Nokia Lumia 920

Any new news on the Nokia Lumia 920 becoming available on O2?

The EE exclusivety finishes today (31st December 2012) and as of yet there has been no definitive answer from any of the other networks, other than the odd rumour on a tech site. There is no sign of the phone on the Coming soon section of the shop either.

Surely you want to sell the WP8 flagship phone?

P4U Deal is £28.50/month for 24 months = 24 x 28.50 = £684.
Three is £450 for the handset and with the equivalent tariff at £15.90/month we have 24 x 15.90 = £381.60 plus £450 for handset = £831.60

that's stupid though, why would you want a £15.90 deal for 24 months when you can have a £20.00 for 12 months = £240 + 450 handset price = £690 unltd mins & text 1gb net.

Doesn't that make more sense.

Also your not tied in for 2 years.

You're comparing something that you pay over 12 months to something you pay over 24 months..  What are you going to do when teh 12 month contract is up?  Just stop paying monthly and have a phone with no contract?  I'm comparing over 24 months..

Look at it this way.. Would you rather spend £684 over 24 months (by paying simply £28.50 a month and nothing more) or would you rather spend £690 over 12 months and then carry on paying another £20/month or whatever for the next 12 months..

Even if you found a £10/month contract after the initial 12 months, you're going to pay another £120 on top of the £690 that you would've already paid...

Yes point noted, 12 months is a long way my friend. Better deals better tariffs. We don't know what we pay £20.00 today might be £5 next year. Also you'd want to change after 12 months. End of the day its your choice your money. Personally last 2 years I've stayed away from long term contracts. 18 months ago I paid £240 for Iphone 800 mins unltd text and 500 mb data for £47.00 which was discounted down to £32pm which was a 12 month contract. 12 months down the line its unltd mins and texts 1gb same Iphone for £32 or £20 for sim only.

Also as I've worked for both O2 and Orange. O2 is the better network.

Orange charge you £5.00 for non dd while O2 don't. Indian call centres for Orange. UK for O2.

6month warranty for faulty handsets after that you send of to repair to manufacturer, Orange say that we provide you the sim which is transferable to another handset.

O2 repair service is length of contract.

what if Orange change the price half way through your contract. They have done it over the last 3 years while O2 have only done it this year. No contract is fixed

Even if you got a £5/month contract after the 12 months it would still cost you more.. Doesn't matter though, I've made my choice for now and certainly don't disagree with your statement of O2 being the better network. I don't change phones often and once I'm out of contract I can switch to a cheap 4G tariff. It wouldn't surprise me if I came back to O2 at that point!

Regarding price changes, I did ask the sales rep through the online chat feature of the P4U site and he confirmed that the price won't change. I got a copy of the conversation emailed to myself just in case slight_smile

Its a 3rd party company. They can say a lot of things. As long as orange confirm it then fine if your going by p4u word then ill double think.
