My wife bought a Nokia lumia 520 last week as an upgrade on Pay As You Go, having to have a sim change to do it, which was done for her in the Durham O2 shop.
She found she was receiving SMS texts but when she tried sending one it would not let her.
Looking at it, it had the SMS number for the Monthly Cotract one in it, so we amended it for the PAYG one and it worked. ....... apart from, if you switch the phone off and back on again it has reset the SMS number back to the Monthly on rather than the correct PAYG one.
Any solution to this, does the SIM have to be taken back to O2 to get changed or sorted?

I think you have a Pay Monthly sim and need a Pay and Go one.
The message centre number is pre-stored on the sim.

Definitely another trip to the O2 store I'm afraid.
