@MI5

Have you watched the video link that I provided? This is not a simple issue otherwise HMD Global would have been far quicker to respond with a solution. Since they treat the 3310 (2017) as a marketing stunt to raise awareness of the brand and the Nokia 3, 5, 6 and 8 handsets they really aren't bothered about supporting the 3310 or making good on its shortcoming (especially the Calendar and its none existent import/export functionality and this issue with MMS). We are onto a losing battle as one O2 customer support representative thought you needed 3G to send a text/picture message!

I can’t watch the video until I have a WiFi connection I’m afraid but I did wonder if o2 now required 3G as I said above.

Everything else works fine including SENDING PHOTOS VIA MMS. The problem is receiving a compromised WBMP black and white tiny thumbnail interpretation of what the picture should be! This is a known issue as described here:

hi, dose anyone know how to set my new nokia 3310 to receive picture messages? i can send picture messages via text, but i am only receiving a 204B bmp file, instead of the picture sent to me. if i put my sim card in my old phone it receives the picture & if i then send that pic via bluetooth to my nokia 3310 it receives it & i can view it properly (as it was sent to me). whats going on? haha. how do i fix this? "

He managed to overcome it so why isn't there standardised advice from both O2 and HMD Global? They're supposed to be the experts!!!!

I've no idea mate as I don't work for either - I'm just trying to help you fix it, but I guess if better brains than myself have failed, I won't be successful...........

SOLVED! It was the Sim Card. Once I installed a new Sim Card sent from O2 and using the 'Sim Swap' service the issue resolved itself! It must have been an incompatibility in the Nokia 3310 (2017) with older Sim Cards!
