Hi, I'm new to these phones so can anyone tell me how much of the surrounding card do I remove before inserting the sim into my phone. I've removed a small card by breaking 3 joining pieces but theres another surround that looks as though it should be broken off. I don't want to do anything that damages it. Also is there a special tool or methid for doing this if it needs doing. Thanks.

It should be smooth on all sides like the micro-sim shown here:

If you just fold it out you should be ok.
