question: audio books on mobile .....

Anonymous
Not applicable

..... can it be done?

I ask because, not being in the best of health, I cannot concentrate on reading a book, but do listen to the radio a lot ie BBCR4 Book at Bedtime, Book of the Week, plays, etc

I have a Nokia 515 phone, which some of you will consider a bit basic, but it suits my needs & so MI5 recommended it to me

thank you Cat

You won't be able to download a dedicated app for it but I see no reason why you can't save them in mp3 format on your memory card and listen to then through the music player on the phone.

Hi Jane...

I know Android has an app for audio books...but I think you would need a different phone to the one you have?

I have iBooks as a stock app on my iPhone ,and it allows audio books. I'm not hinting for you to change Handsets of course. slight_smile

Ever thought about getting an E-reader Wispa? They're very affordable now.

EDIT: Can anyone recommend good E-readers?

From what I can see, the phone does not as standard support the AA or AAX file formats used by audio books. So the file would need converting into mp3 or other supported file. Problem is with that, the "big" audiobook vendors are preventing this by having strict digital rights on the files.
Hopefully someone more informed than me can chip in.

Look for audiobooks that are mp3 as mi5 said, you'll be ok then.

And enjoy your Nokia 515, there's no need of downgrading to an iPhone just yet. 🙂
