I just don't bother with either "day" though I'm looking forward this year to having the guilt put on me by my mother as my father put guilt on me for mother's day so ended up taking them both out for lunch. "It's only fair" is the expression I dread to hear.

Has anyone worked out why there is a Fathers' Day?
I understand it started in the USA, and the date picked for it was 9 months before Mothers' Day!!!

Probably right and Mother's Day is a nonsense too and was originally Mothering Sunday, generally thought to be the day off given to people so they could visit their mother church.
