Hi Guys & Gals,
Wimbledon starts this Monday 23rd of June 2014 to Sunday 6th of July 2014
Can Andy Murray defend his 2013 win ?
I remember the positive atmosphere when Andy managed to take the win against Novak Djokovic. ![]()
Well he did become the first man from Great Britain to win the singles title since Fred Perry in 1936. ![]()
The womens final between Marion Bartoli, {winner} and Sabine Lisicki was a very good final too.
Now England are out of the World Cup Football we need something else to cheer on. ![]()

shame about Sharapova = I like her
Nadal well = yes I enjoy watching him play, but 'one down' means more chance for our Marvellous Murray
yep I know I'm heavily biased towards the Scot = he's gutsy for one thing & can really play
wonder what Djokovic & Federer (my mum's favourite) are doing?
'anyone for tennis'?

I was really shocked about Nadal being beaten. I also see the Williams sisters had to retire from their doubles due to a viral infection.
My all time favourite player was Nastase. (mind you he was in the crowd at Wimbledon on Saturday and looked a bit of a twonk in that get up):happy-smiley58:
And yes Andy is doing well. I personally just wish he would show a tad more excitement. When he gives an interview, I find myself drifting off
Still I have my fingers crossed for him. Go Andy.![]()

I still can't watch Murray without thinking about the old Monty Python sketch with a Scotsman playing a blancmange.

I'm still rooting for him despite the fact that we are told he is Scottish when he wins and British when he loses ![]()

It's in part 2 of the Scifi sketch below but to get context you may want to watch pt 1 first.
