Who on earth figured anyone would remember 5280 feet in a mile? Sheesh, and not even Google or Bing to ask back then 😉

Counting money in 12s, and weight in 16s, was bad enough. I can't even remember fluid oz, pints, US and Imperial gallons conversion units. Oh, and don't forget Fahrenheit. No wonder we were taught how to use logarithm tables at school, at least you did not have to remember those!

Still, look what we do with all the spare time and mental capacity we now have available to us as a result of not having to remember all this schtuff 😂

It's amazing the sort of use(less) things you remember... ie 1760 yards in a mile

Then you had furlong, chain, link, rod, pole or perch. (the last 3 remembered due to fishing) joy

All imperial measurements in our school tables (back in the day) upside_down

I`m an oldie and I loved learning imperial measurements at school.

Feet, yards, perch, poles, chains - wooo; pints, quarts and gallons - great

No calculators, just two things - a brain and a memory

I don`t do metric - nope Grumpy

No centimetres, metres, kilometres for me and you can all keep yer litres

Not applicable

I did imperial measurements at school

I still think in yards, as I used to do when measuring in sewing my clothes, way back now

Furlong is a distance post on a horse racing course to me

Really enjoyed this quiz @Mi-Amigo

Well done to us all

Thank you, as ever, @Mi-Amigo for compiling the quiz

Looking forward to Monday's quiz.
