Good quiz - not sure why Taurus-Littrow passed me by... But Ethel's little Willie was all I could think of for the dog. Should've tapped @Cleoriff bearing beer tokens 🤣

@TallTrees

Yes Robbie (the character who found the lost dog) said the dog was 'Well Hard', because of the time he survived on the streets. That name stuck and became Wellard.

Interesting fact: I always thought the dog was a German Shepherd. No, it was a Belgian Tervuren and from 1998- 2008 was played by 3 different dogs. Zenna, Chancer and Kyte (all female) 😂

Thank you for the story @Cleoriff

That's interesting because that was a very strange name. I have met a  Belgian Shepherd.. had a lovely temperament.  True,  very often tv use several similar animals in a series.  I was fascinated  with the little dog in Midsomer Murders because I  thought I  had seen him in a Volvo ad  weeing on a car wheel!  He was so clever. His name was Sykes.  He retired and another little terrier type dog was cast in the part.  😍

Yes Sykes sadly died in 2019 @TallTrees but the new terrier in the latest series of Midsomer is still called Sykes. Couldn't be anything else really. 😍
