ADVANCED NOTICE - NEXT WEEK`S WHITE ROOM QUIZZES

Mon 31 May 2021 - SPRING BANK HOLIDAY SPECIAL

8 questions - one on each of these categories

HISTORY  PEOPLE   PLACES  LITERATURE  MUSIC  MOVIES   SPORT  EVENTS

Wed 02 June 2021 - MULTI-CHOICE ANSWERS

10 questions - one on each of these categories

HISTORY  GEOGRAPHY  SCIENCE   NATURE  LITERATURE  MUSIC  MOVIES  TV  SPORT  GAMES

As Wed 26 May`s WRQ was probably one of the hardest WRQ, next Wed`s WRQ will be - for the first time ever, and as a "one off" [and will NOT to be a regular feature in future White Room Quizzes], like "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" with four answers to each question - only one is correct.

So you don`t have to "pass" on any question and a chance of getting it right if you have to guess.

Sorry, no "ask the audience or host"; "phone a friend"; "50-50"; or a £1 million but there wil be a

Gold Thinker for 10 correct answers; Silver Thinker for 8 correct answers; Bronze Thinker for 6 correct answers; Red Thinker for 4 correct answers; star for every correct answers.

I hope all the regular quizzers, and new members or those who have not taken part in a WRQ, will take part in these White Room Quizzes.

Now I've got that out of my system LOL

Well done all, and thanks @Mi-Amigo!

At least three of my answers were guesses: 1, 5 and 8. I thought mules for obstinacy, hence my wrong gif showing a Moscow Mule. Then I remembered a tee-shirt that showed bison...

And the beating and shaking for 'decutient', from 'decutere', to make fall, or knock down, by shaking - how olives are harvested (not leaves, @TallTrees,but the fruit).

Particularly devious this time, @Mi-Amigo - I'll bet that old book is on your list of five things to take to the Desert Island with you 👍🤣

And how many times have I seen olive trees being shaken down in Spain @pgn? Many times...thats probably why it was stuck in the recesses of my brain and I had to 'decutient'  it out...rofl

Thank you @MI5 @Cleoriff @BobM @pgn for your comments.

I`m pleased you enjoyed the quiz and well done on your awards.

Thank you @pgn for giving the definition of "decutient", which I thought might catch some out.

I think that "pub game question" must rank alongside that infamous "oldest tree" question as one of the hardest WRQ questions.

I hope everyone likes the slightly different versions of WRQ for Monday and Wednesday.

Yes, @Cleoriff - Spain, Italy, Greece, Tunisia - all use the nets and a vigorous shake. That machine would make short work of crickets, cicadas, geckos and anything else lurking in the tree canopy!

Here, the wind does it for free: windfalls during apple scrumping season...😖

Looking forward to the multiple choice quiz next week, @Mi-Amigo 👍

And @BobM - Shove Ha'penny was an inspired guess here too, bar skittles didn't quite seem right. Nor did Beer-Mat Pyramid... (Or Coaster Pyramid).

Thanks for the answers reading through these @Mi-Amigo

Actually remember the obstinacy (Bison)  question ~  I have heard that, I used to know quite a few but brain is getting to capacity Horrified

Even though @pgn  says there is lots of capacity unused LOL

The Herring now I remember (too late)

Shove ha'penny ~ it was that or skittles (wrong one chosen)

Dolly and Cissy ~ on the odd occasion I have watched Dad's Army, in my distant memory I do now recall these names.

The frost/freezing ~ knew it would be something of that order chose hail ~ truly never heard the word though.

@pgn  good thinking!  decutient  ~ I don't think I'll commit it to memory not enough space.

I have not come across that word really ~ even though I quite like the thought of the Olives dropping from the trees ~ delicious thought Fantastic
