Great Quiz @Mi-Amigo', Ray and I used to love speedway, and had a track at Brandon close to us. Always used to go to the stadium when the Coventry Bees were racing at home. The track also used to host Stock car racing and Greyhound racing. Due to total mismanagement the stadium closed in 2009, then reopened in 2014. Again mismanaged and is now derelict and has had fires set to remaining buildings.
A real tragedy as you could have a great night out there with a restaurant serving great food.

The Speedway one was a head-scratcher for me, looking out from this dank, grey, rainy Garden of Earthly Delights 😉

Good quiz @Mi-Amigo thank you, lot of good results and well done to @TallTrees on the Bronze Thinker.
My answer to question 7 (earthly delights) was a silly one and should read 'Hans Indemud' (hands in the mud)
Ah well, I thought it was funny 🤔

Thanks for the additional info on the speedway track which was near you.
Thank you @pgn
Pleased you enjoyed the quiz and well done on getting a Silver Thinker - given that Speedway question was a head scratcher for you.
Thank you @BobM
Pleased you enjoyed the quiz and well done on getting a Bronze Thinker + .
Ahh, now I can see the joke name in your answer to the second Art question.
I hope all of you, and the other regular quizzers, like the categories and questions in today`s WRQ which is now up on a separate thread.

Funnily enough someone I used to work with worked there as a steward, and his wife worked at one of the food places.
His two boys also helped doing various jobs (selling programs, etc)!
He was very upset when it closed again as they all really enjoyed it - mainly as they got paid to watch the speedway!!

Great place to go if you love Speedway @gmarkj.
Back in the day, my other half was set up for a trial as a speedway rider (they loaned them the bikes!). The week before his trial his favourite rider (Peter Craven) was involved in a freak racing accident (he swerved to avoid a fallen rider and hit the fence) He died of brain injury that night in 1963.
Ray never went for the trial after that.
