I really enjoy this quiz

And to have acheived Silver Thinker last week is fantastic fun

I, however have been accused of using Google and Wicki, which is incorrect

I have been using books I have around my house, including some old school books of my son.

I find my membership of this forum no longer tenable, as it's like some people have put a stain on my character.

So I cancel my membership.

Thanks for the good times xx.

No nor me. I don't think for one minute anyone has accused her of anything!

Edited to add, I thought the use of books was banned as a reference source for the quiz anyway?

No, I thought books were ok but Google and Wiki were banned.
At least that's the impression I got from the "rules" as they are posted?

I am surprised that WispaRed7 has deleted her account. As far as I am aware, no-one has made any accusations, least of all me, about her participation in the WRQ.

To clarify one point which has been raised. It`s possible there might have been some misinterpretation of the rules as I never thought of including books on the banned list as I presumed they wouldn't be used, because it is common practice in pub quizzes for the use of mobile phones and/or reference books to search for the answers to be prohibited.

Of course, there is nothing to stop anyone researching or revising a subject before the quiz which is one of the reasons I always give a list of categories/subjects before the actual questions are posted. This gives everyone a chance of swotting up.

Also the WRQ has, and will continue to be fun. As has been said many times, the questions are only easy if you know the answer. I`m grateful that I don`t have to answer the questions on geography, which was my worse subject at school. On more than one occasion, guesses have resulted in a correct answer and other times we have seen some amusing answers and no-one was offended that such answers brought a bit of light-hearted fun to the quiz.

The WRQ has grown from a handful of members to over 10 taking part regularly, with each WRQ getting over 100 views, and has become a popular addition to Off Topic and I hope everyone will continue to join in what is essentially fun and an escape from what is going in the world around us.

Thank you everyone for your support and taking part in the WRQ.Thanks! Bow

I'll have to hold my hand up as a cheater on the books front - have consulted my daughter's encyclopaedia/dictionary on a few occasions...
