Hey guys.
In one of my old forums I was a member of (not existing anymore since this year), we had a thread where everybody just told in short what made them happy this day. Thought it would be nice for here too!
To start: I'm working for EMS and my first call today was am expected birth. So we hoped we would be able to bring her into hospital just in time. But it didn't work. I was at the patient and she just said "it's coming"... My team-mate was driving REALLY fast, it took him about an kilometer to brake - during that time the baby was just born. Even we were a really young team and not long into job, we did VERY well and even the doctors told us we did excellent.
(Our last call was a reanimation on the street, the woman did not get an own circulation again.... But I guess that's the circle of life :D)

So my contract ends on thursday... Today I picked up my stuff from watch and cleared my locker. Weird feeling. But nice my new job starts on friday.
This week I was in Alkmaar, Netherlands....
Funny...
It was cheesemarket and there were only Germans! The guys really RAN with this things with cheese on it! Really lovely city, beautiful old part of town.
We went by train (got special offer tickets in a shop in NL), but due to a fire on another train we had to wait 2,5 hours in Utrecht. But nice trip.
Fantastic news about the new job @ComaChameleon. I hope it's far more pleasant than your last. Here's wishing you good luck, Anna.
And lovely photos, I particularly like the one with the cheeses 'on the move'

Great pictures @ComaChameleon.
Wishing you all the luck in the world in your new job on Friday. New challenges and everything to look forward to...
What made me happy yesterday was managing to get all my plants planted into tubs in the garden. (There were loads of them so this was a satisfying job).
Gave them a good watering, came in and not so happy when 3 hrs later the heavens opened and down came lashing rain!! We'd had a violent thunderstorm the night before and I'd slept though that so I thought we were done with rain...Not so..
What made it even more weird was the storm felt quite tropical. Thunder, Lightning and rain.....with the temperature at 24c.
So far today, though early, it's quite different, Dank and dreary and 12c. Summer must be over. What a difference to the last BH weekend

Thank you yes, it's weird. At least I want to stay there as a temporary staffmember (extra money is always good) & you're right, I really forgot about it, I was too *bleep* about the Nederlandse Spoorwegen and their managing (or better not managing) of the problem..
Thank you both ^^
They really ran with the cheeses! It was ridiculously awesome!
On friday I will first sign the contract in the cityhall and after going to the watch.
Aditionally I finally (!) got it managed to sign up for a fitness studio and having my appointment to get my trainingplan tomorrow.
Last week I had a first training (for free) and still had sore muscles 3 days after, bc I moved much on thursday & friday xD
Today is the anniversary of dad's dead. Feels weird. Especially 'cause the grandparents wanted mum to go to them bc grandpa didn't slept much bc of diarrhea... We wanted to go somewhere we can forget the day and just...hang around. So now everyone's *bleep* on each other and ... yes. -.- super day

Great pics, @ComaChameleon@.
There's a festival at this time somewhere in England where they chase cheeses down a hill...
Good luck for the new job on Friday!

@Cleoriff wrote:Just been watching the midland news @Glory1 Shocked to see some streets in Birmingham (20 miles away) are like rivers. Some cars completely under water...:smileysad:
Yes I've just watched Sky News and seen how bad it is in the Midlands. And only the other day they were talking about possible water restrictions due to lack of rainfall. It always seems to happen that the minute they speak about lack of rainfall, the heavens open and it pees down.
I feel for all those poor people affected by the flooding. It's a nasty business to lose everything you've built up over the years to make your home a home. The clearing up will take days and cost a fortune.
