Think we're having bad weather? This is tonight's forecast for the Northeastern US.

Well the rain has arrived. Started drizzly and has got heavier as the morning has gone on. Lovely!

Yes we had a heavy amount of rainfall today, just as I was about to go to the opticians!

Very odd day today.

Absolutely hammered down with rain this morning, stopped about lunchtime and had a little bit of sun.

The wind though. Wow.

Had to help a neighbour cut down part of a tree that was falling over this evening.

Trees 🌳

I live in a forest @gmarkj

Storm overnight 30th October to 31st October huge pine tree branch down in garden thankfully only damage to plants underneath,  debris everywhere from other trees.  Neighbour's huge beech tree down in main road cutting by tree surgeons early morning.  Neighbours very lucky it fell away from house . Went to see diameter of trunk left waiting to be collected today it was about 30 inches.

We will be cutting many branches today too.

I  look up and feel very very frightened,  all trees under tree protection order.

I love trees but 100ft pines  at end of their life span well different.  I have planted trees in front garden pretty trees and berry trees.

Trees and wind are not best matched 😬

It hammered down with rain here all night, wind blowing it against the windows - cool, grey, but not anywhere as gusty this am.

And lighter at 07:30, definitely.

Living in a forest does sound idyllic @TallTrees, until the trees are at the mercy of the elements.

Then it must become worrying, not to say frightening. 🤗

Sounds lovely but also nerve wracking @TallTrees !

We are 4 doors down from the edge of a cemetary, and they have some tall trees round the edge (not sure what type).

Last year part of one fell down and missed our neighbours car by about 6 foot. Borough council came out and sorted the fallen one, but apparently there is little they can do for the others until/if they also come down.

Worryingly for neighbour is that there are 2 of these trees that could fall into the house/back garden!
