Headline :
Tim Cook speaks out on recent iCloud hacks, promises new security measures.

Excerpt from the ~ Link "Apple has already released a statement on the matter, claiming that iCloud and its subsequent services had not been breached. Cook reiterated those claims today, and added that the Cupertino company plans to rollout a number of new security features to make its devices more safe."

My Thoughts :

I welcome any new introduced security measures which hopefully will go to re install consumer confidence.

My worry is that iPhone and iPad users think that their iCloud accounts are now safe and secure when they are far from it!

In all honesty as the iCloud backup holds settings etc as detailed here http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12519?viewlocale=en_US I'm not overly worried.

As stated in your excellent help thread photo steam can be turned off and they stay in their for a limited time.

The iCloud backup can store alot more than settings though if you turn the options on (which I assume most people will do) :S

Actually, BoB you might know the answer to this:

You posted last week that Photo Stream via the iCloud program on a PC or Mac will only sync 30 days worth of photos, which is correct as that is what Apple states on their website. However when my girlfriend checked PhotoStream on my PC last night she was able to sync her pictures from when she got her iPhone a few months ago! Any idea why?

This is true and true with most situations @Cleoriff

The info is readily available through apples site or a google search.

And forums like this and others.

Hi @Anonymous

I also recall something recently where one of the people involved said they deleted the picture from iCloud.

If a person shares an Apple ID across multiple devices it's feasible someone still had a picture on their camera role which uploaded again to iCloud.

Also iTunes and iPhones / iPads keep previous back ups too which it's possible one of the older back ups had the photo. (Maybe)
