Some Good News to Share :
Turned out a long green tissue box which lives on my bedside cabinet ... & ... found all sorts of bits & bobs including my mom's gold 90th birthday gift which I'd lost. New battery and happy to see it on my wrist.
Nice young lady in the Snack Bar said I'd got nice skin & my friend there said I was 59 ! ....... I'm early 70's. I thought we were similar ages, not that it matters.
I have no letters after my name nor before it ....... except G.E.M. (Good Enough Mum) ....... Twice my lad has said to me = 'You brought me up mum' ....... When he rings me usually on a Wednesday afternoon about 2-3 hours from home in NE England he always opens with 'Hello Mum How are You?'...... Just delighted to hear his voice ....... Shall see him & my daughter-in-law about Christmastime all being well.

Great news re finding your Mums watch @RunrigForever. Lovely that you are now able to wear it.
My Mum lost a watch when she was in a residential home 5 years after my dad died.
So I bought her a cheap one with big numbers and hands as she complained she couldn't see the face of her old one.
It was very cheap but she was still delighted with it. It was funny how much better she was with this cheap watch. The staff said she was always up, washed and dressed, ready to help them give the breakfasts out. Before this, she 'lost track of time' and was more confused. She became a bit of a 'clock watcher'.
Knew when it was meal time and bedtime. Mum was also able to tell the staff about visiting time.
My sister and I hung a big sheet of card on her door with a weekly visiting rota.ie who was coming and on what day. (It also helped the staff so I'm told) 😂
Amazing how simple things like this, improved her daily well being.

Mum had a double room to herself. Photos and things from home. There was an A3 size card on the outside of each residents door. My sister photocopied a lot of old photos including family dancing ones. It helped mum looking at old photo albums and photos of my lad when he was little and my sisters daughter. She could be cantankerous though with us and the staff - that's the another side of dementia ?
My father-in-law Pat said to me : if you've got your health you've got everything ....... miner on permanent nights.

Anyone else having problems with carers themselves and management - CS are surprisingly good ....... just looked them up on their webside - they have a score of 2 out of 10 ....... social worker put me with them, Bradford based ....... my then support worker said why as plenty of care companies in the town I have lived in for nigh on 30 years.
My daighter-in-law sent them an email over the weekend and I've just sent them one as I have no phone and an appointment 11:30am ....... carers say one thing & CS don't seem to pass onto or carers or carers make up their own agenda ........ 2/10 score on their websits
Meethinx time to move to another care company.
Will email Emma & Alex.
I could do without all this kerfuffle = as not particularly well ....... Parkinson's disease but locum doctors rife at group medical practice and they wouldn't give me a diagnosis = Dad had Parkinsons, housebound and such a debilitating disease.

The government published the league tables of hospitals in England yesterday
From good To poor.
Of the 135 published, it was a shock to see the two closest to me, so far down the table.
George Eliot NHS Trust = 121
UHCW (Walsgrave Hospital in Coventry) = 133
