Just watching the news about the heat and wildfires in the East Mediterranean. 

Greece has reached 50.5c. today. 

Also wildlife cameras caught 2 moronic idiots deliberately starting a fire in Turkey.

After lighting the grass they took a t shirt and waved it at the flames, making sure the flames spread up the hill. Hope they are caught and punished severely. No thought for the people, wildlife or houses. Also the firefighters who haven't slept for days trying to bring these fires under control.

Sickening. 😠

Good grief, I had no idea these were still being used. 

I must sound really really boring but in all my life I have never taken any non prescription drugs. Not even marijuana.

In the 70's we used to hang around with a band called The Heavy Metal Kids and once, post show they invited us back to their room for a drink. They were pretty outrageous on stage. We went back and one of the lads made a 'roll up' and passed it round. Got to me and I refused. The lead singer (Gary Holton) said 'Don't push her, she's a nurse'. Gary later went on to play Wayne in Auf Wiedersehen Pet. 

In 1985 he was found dead of a Morphine and alcohol overdose. Age 33. What a waste!!

I too was a fan of The Heavy Metal Kids - saw them at Reading Festival, where I took a 8mm film of them,

and numerous times in Birmingham and met Gary. A really nice bloke. Such a sad loss at such a young age.

Yeh loved seeing Gary climbing the stack while singing Rock n Roll Man. And getting a [mock] beating up by the rest of the HMK during Cops Are Coming.... Brought back lots of memories. Thanks.
