@pgnin 2008? I was on the phone with someone in Gloucestershire (yes at silly o'clock) & he could hear the commotion here & then i heard it at his end too.

No, must have been back in the early 70's. Scary at around midnight, neighbours banging on doors to get everyone out into the open.  I think the quake was in the sea some 70miles away, but scary. With Etna north of us and the Aegean peninsuly north-east, we got the odd tremor. One year the fishing boats in the bay bottomed on the sand as the water-level in the bay dropped by a few feet for a few minutes. No direct damage from either of those that I can remember.

Still, all eyes on Reykjavik at the moment...

For me today, all eyes are on Netflix, waiting for the long awaited Drive to Survive series 3 to drop onto my screen.

This is a real fly on the wall documentary about the F1 season last year. yahoo

Particularly challenging for everyone due to Covid. The season opener in Australia (March) was cancelled whilst drivers were getting into their race suits

It didn't restart until July with people in their own teams protective bubble.

Netflix were told they could film but not as freely as before. The netflix team had to increase their personnel numbers and were allocated to ONE team only.

A testament to the safety precautions put in place, none of the Netflix team members caught Covid during filming and they were there for every one of the 18 races.

Very impressive - shows what can be done when everyone tries, @Cleoriff 👍

Indeed @pgn particularly when you realise how many countries they travelled to. Mainly in Europe, even using old tracks which hadn't been used for years. Season finale was in Bahrain, then on to Abu Dhabi. All raced behind closed doors with no public attendance. The FIA, like any other business, will have taken a massive financial hit with that.

This season starts next weekend in Bahrain. Again with no public allowed.

This is long, and from 2017 - and I need to watch it again. But: this economist sees a lot of what has got the world to the state it is in today in this calm analysis that starts with... Tobacco.

Actually, the talk is quite engaging.  The guy still works for the FT and BBC R4 today, and I must listen to it again, I got 2 cold calls on the landline when trying first time around.

Looked him up on Amazon, found:
