Following on from a recent discussion, all iPlayer users must now own a TV licence, regardless of whether or not they watch programmes live.

I watch iPlayer here using a VPN and it always asks now if you have a TV licence.

I wonder if they'll force you to enter a licence number at some point?

Seems logical......but the BBC aren't logical......re-code it to accept username = Licence number + password

Sadly the BBC are far from logical so I doubt they'll require people to enter their licence number for at least another 3-4 years while they "develop" the system to accept and confirm it with the TV Licencing Agency.

What do they do about children using the iPlayer? Are they required to put in their parent's TV License details? If so, why?

I DO NOT WORK FOR O2
