It's been a really fun seeing all the posts for the Month Full of Summer event. Big thanks to everyone who's joined in so far! There's plenty of slots still open so go check out the post to participate.
As a warm up to the Summer Leaf Quiz coming to you from @TallTrees near the end of the month, I thought I'd pop in with a little wildflower/native plant teaser.
It's been a hot, dry summer and many of our gardens may be looking a bit crispy right about now. Thankfully that hasn't stopped our native plants from doing their best.
Do you know your native wildflowers? Bonus points if you can match them to their clue in the list below!
Traditionally, this plant was used in medicines to treat cough and cold.
The common name of this plant means "beautiful woman."
Often considered a nuisance in the garden, this member of the carrot family is incredibly valuable to wildlife.
The fibre of this plant is useful for making strong cordage.
Best known for it's bacteriostatic properties, the fruit/flowers of this plant have been used to preserve the world's third most popular drink.
This plant is a member of the pea family. The flowers are often used in salads and teas by fastidious foragers.
This species has one of the largest native ranges of any in its family, stretching from Europe all the way to North Africa and West Asia.
The high saponin content of this plant's leaves make it a good substitute for soap if you're in a pinch.
A clue about Foxgloves from @TallTrees (since I left it out 😅😞 This plant was used to stimulate the heart muscle so it is used in medicine.
Comment when you've got it worked out and be sure to guess only one at a time (clue can be included)! I'll be keeping the thread updated as we go along 🍯
Thanks for the handy list of gamers and quizzers @Mi-Amigo!

Aaaand the last, final, and most common on our list ✔️ No. 9 Common Ivy
Thanks for finishing this out out 🍯 @TallTrees and 🍯 @BobM 👏👏👏
Maybe not everyone's cup of tea ☕ but I had fun with this one. Next time you go for a walk, you can get nerdy about the plants you can identify 🤓
Great job to everyone who particpated @gmarkj, @BobM, @TallTrees, and @Mi-Amigo

Just read through this all and find everyone’s knowledge incredible. I don’t think I would have got many right if I had seen this one earlier but a great game Breanna and well done to those who played along.
