A little early to start this thread, although the new judge to replace Darcey Bussell has been announced

It's Motsi Mabuse (sister of Oti Mabusi)

Motsi Mabuse, elder sister of Strictly Come Dancing star Oti, has been named as Dame Darcey Bussell's replacement on the BBC One show's judging panel.

Originally from South Africa, Motsi is a former South African champion and German Latin champion and a judge on Strictly Come Dancing's German version.

Mabuse, 38, said she was "absolutely overjoyed" to be joining the panel and hoped to "add her own bit of sparkle".

I don't doubt her credentials at all but can't help wondering how this will work as Oti is still appearing on the show?

Foxtrot to 3 Lions????? That must be the most un-ballroom musical number ever. Have you ever anyone seen dancing to the original whilst sober? Or drunk. Pics or it never happened

Opening night tonight...so will do this in two parts

Alex +Neil opened the night with a Quickstep... did very well I thought and looking at the other scores, I thought was scored low with 21

Chris and Karen. Cha Cha and were awful. He was completely out of time. Scored 13

Catherine and Johannes. Did a very good first night Viennese Waltz and scored 20

Saffron and AJ, Excellent Tango. Well deserved 27

Mike and Katya. Jive. I thought he did ok but was overscored with 22

Emma and Aljaz Cha Cha Cha... Quite underwhelming though managed to score 19

James and Luba. Tango. Very poor. I honestly thought he would be better than that. Stiff as a board. Scored 11

Kelvin +Oti  a really great Samba. Considering he was a replacement for Jamie and has only been rehearsing for 2 weeks...  well just wow.

Scored 32.

David +Nadiya Foxtrot to 3 Lions!! I thought the judges were very kind with their remarks. However the marks reflected the dance. Scored 17

Michelle and Giovanni  Cha Cha Cha. Much better than I thought she would be. Great performance Score 30

I have to post now as there is so much chit chat, the post will time out. Also I thought they would show only half of the contestants tonight

Dev (DJ) and Dianna. Foxtrot. Danced extremely well. Great footwork. Scored 30

Anneka and Kevin Cha Cha Cha. Mmmm. You were right @sheepdog ...Kevin won't win this year!!

Score 14

Will + Janette Danced the Quickstep. Considering Will's disability, he danced better than many tonight.

Very well done. Score 26

Karim + Amy Cha Cha Cha . Blimey, that was excellent.  Scored 31

Emma + Anton. Jive. I think Anton will do well with Emma. A few timing issues but not bad. Score 23

All in all a good first show.

@Cleoriff for some reason I read that as Kelvin! Agree, a good show with some outstanding ones and some, well lets just say if James and Anneka are in the same dance-off, I might be watching some cat video on youtube instead.
