And how time flies! Time for the annual reveal of this years Strictly cast of celebs. Oh who am I kidding, let's just pick the anonymity out of the dustbin that is the BBC budget for a flagship show. So before the exciting questions of "Who is this" and "Que?" followed by "Weren't they on Eastenders a decade ago?" and the inevitable "Guess who's needs a career boost", we must mention the new and exciting changes.
First, in a very thoughtful and provoking group session in the BBC canteen, same old judges line-up and we'll get more of I, Claudia propped up by Tess Daley emerging from her yearly hibernation box who may sport another subtle cosmetic procedure. DAO is likely to return as Oasis are still on tour.
Though in rather more salacious news, there is a drug investigation by the BBC into two "Strictly stars". Which was submitted in March but hey, a new series of Strictly needs all exposure as possible so was announced a few days ago. Must disengage cynical mode....and two new dancers to join Neil Jones as backing dancers: Alexis Warr and Julian Caillon. Usual pro-dancers and yet we still have Katya Jones?
Harry Aikines-Aryeetey
First up, because the BBC really need Gladiators to be successful and everyone will be copy & pasting his name cos I ain't typing it. Former athlete and er, current Gladiator. Could do reasonably well but may find himself in the dance-off mid-series because someone has to.
Alex Kingston
Various roles over the years and this years older woman contestant so far. Could be fun or could be not.
Dani Dyer
Not Danny Dyer and just to remind you who she is, the BBC has kindly put up a photo with Danny Dyer. Famous for being Danny Dyer's daughter and being on Love Island but mainly being Danny Dyer's daughter as seen in the photo. Dubious EE link but we await to see if Danny Dyer will be announced as a contestant to remind everyone who the daughter of Danny Dyer is.
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink
Legend. And my favourite so far to bring the entertainment. Possibly some decent footwork coming from a footballer but we'll see. Probably won't help him find a new club to manage though.

Thanks for that insight @TallTrees
It Takes Two is on every evening but I don't watch it.
I spend so much time finding the dances for each week, then watching the show on Saturday and Sunday, then doing a write up of every dance, I feel I do enough.
Besides that, my husband would go mad. 😂
Downstairs we share a TV and he hates SCD with a passion, so it would be unfair to expect him to watch it every day of the week. He has enough of it on Saturday and Sunday. 🤣
By the way, are you aware the show is recorded all on Saturday?.
The BBC get another 45minutes viewing on a Sunday by showing the so called 'Results Show'
I belong to 2 SCD groups on FB. One of them is a Spoiler group. So I know on Saturday night, which two couples are in the dance off and who is evicted. 🤔
I would never post it on this thread though as most people prefer to know on 'Sunday'
All the contestants have to sign a contract which stops them posting on their social media accounts on Saturday.

Thanks @Cleoriff
True you do more than enough on the SCD
Should get 🏆
I don't normally watch it, just look in with a passing interest. Scrolling through the channels other day I thought I would look in. Dancing is very much the same as usual but entertaining. The judges same except I was astonished when I saw SB. 👀 😲
Anyway all light-hearted fun, still astonished at SB 🤣
May pop in here from time to time. Much sympathy for your Husband 😅

Carry on popping in here my lass. It's great to have another voice/ perspective on the thread
I agree with you re Shirley and her face. Looks very 'plasticky' 😂
Mind you, the main host, Tess Daly, always seems to have botox and fillers at the start of each new series.
Still when it started the main host was Bruce Forsythe and Tess was the required 'pretty girl' who acted as as the co-host. When Bruce died Tess stepped into his very big shoes but as someone who can't dance, she was a poor replacement.
Oh well, I still enjoy the professionals teaching non dancers how to perform.

Oh yes, Bruce was fantastic. No one could fill his shoes @Cleoriff
Two very weird hosts now, neither with talent of any sort 🤣
Totally unsuitable even TD with Bruce she the Muppet support, sorry Muppets.
My wonder is, the BBC with all their contacts put up this unlikely duo.

I actually quite like Claudia. She can be very amusing. Also good enough to have her own show called The Traitors, which has won quite a few TV awards. It's only been going for about 3 years. Claudia is an excellent host on that.
Whereas Tess seems to be brought out of hibernation in September to host the annual SCD. It finishes in November and she disappears for another year. No other channel thinks she's good enough to host anything else.😂

Never watched The Traitors @Cleoriff
I have only ever seen CW in the shampoo ad and once with Mary Berry helping her to cook, which was a mis-match.
Today I tuned in to Strictly I.T.Two

Interviews
Chris and Nadiya
Chris felt lost with dancing moves according to Nadiya he's always bent like in a scrum so she placed a broom stick through his jacket sleeves in lessons! It is working, apparently.
Ellie and Vito
Ellie is very enthusiastic. Apparently keeps a cardboard cut out of all the judges in the dance training room watching! Asked who was the most intimidating she said Craig! OK with it as she is understanding the comments. Vito is really looking forward to the next dance and they are training hard.
Stefan and Dianne
Stefan was feeling very down about the cha cha trained so very hard that Dianne insisted he take a break. Dianne was pleased that he made progress for a good show.
Choreography Corner
Mainly agreed with the Judges assessments but not all the comments regarding Lewis and Katya, and their quite remarkable Viennese Waltz.
Don't know whether I can listen to another Strictly I.T.TWO 😬
I may need a rest 😴 😂

The real problem with Strictly It Takes Two, is it's so repetitive.
Re Chris and being hunched over, we saw this on Saturday with Nadiya using a broomstick to stop him hunching over This was in the Training room segment, just before they danced.
Ellie and Vito.
Yet again, Vito put the cardboard cut out of the judges in their training room.
Ellie went through her list of comments.
As for Stefan, he did the Cha Cha last week and we heard how worried he was in the Training room
so as I say, really repetitive!
As for Lewis, well they can cut out any negative comments about him as he's one of my favourites and a great dancer. He needs to lose some of the acrobatics though. George is another favourite.
You can give up watching It Takes Two if you've had enough 😂

WEEK 3 Movie Week (Songs and Dances)
I see Lewis is doing a Paso. Yippee. 😂 (In fact there are 3 Paso Doble dances! Lewis, Ross and Chris. )
