And how time flies! Time for the annual reveal of this years Strictly cast of celebs. Oh who am I kidding, let's just pick the anonymity out of the dustbin that is the BBC budget for a flagship show. So before the exciting questions of "Who is this" and "Que?" followed by "Weren't they on Eastenders a decade ago?" and the inevitable "Guess who's needs a career boost", we must mention the new and exciting changes.
First, in a very thoughtful and provoking group session in the BBC canteen, same old judges line-up and we'll get more of I, Claudia propped up by Tess Daley emerging from her yearly hibernation box who may sport another subtle cosmetic procedure. DAO is likely to return as Oasis are still on tour.
Though in rather more salacious news, there is a drug investigation by the BBC into two "Strictly stars". Which was submitted in March but hey, a new series of Strictly needs all exposure as possible so was announced a few days ago. Must disengage cynical mode....and two new dancers to join Neil Jones as backing dancers: Alexis Warr and Julian Caillon. Usual pro-dancers and yet we still have Katya Jones?
Harry Aikines-Aryeetey
First up, because the BBC really need Gladiators to be successful and everyone will be copy & pasting his name cos I ain't typing it. Former athlete and er, current Gladiator. Could do reasonably well but may find himself in the dance-off mid-series because someone has to.
Alex Kingston
Various roles over the years and this years older woman contestant so far. Could be fun or could be not.
Dani Dyer
Not Danny Dyer and just to remind you who she is, the BBC has kindly put up a photo with Danny Dyer. Famous for being Danny Dyer's daughter and being on Love Island but mainly being Danny Dyer's daughter as seen in the photo. Dubious EE link but we await to see if Danny Dyer will be announced as a contestant to remind everyone who the daughter of Danny Dyer is.
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink
Legend. And my favourite so far to bring the entertainment. Possibly some decent footwork coming from a footballer but we'll see. Probably won't help him find a new club to manage though.

Quite a few improvements from most and a questionable dance from one.
La avoid: um yeah, but how much longer will we put up with the lack of dance?
Karen C: not bad but perhaps can’t deal with the speed of some dances could be her weak point?
Jimmy: working it and working it! Love it keep it up.
Lewis: agree with the acrobatic turning into a signature move we will be bored of next week if he tries it again. Which he will.
Alex: turning into a bit of a dark horse isn’t she?
Ellie: needs to stop throwing herself into every move. More grace needed with her armwork.
Tom: now we all know he was never going to threaten the top 13 but I have to question Amy on this routine in calling it a Salsa. Did she come up with it?
Harry: see Jimmy! Will go a long way in the series as his technique picks up.
Ross: either my YouTube was on low resolution setting or he’s been on the Botox. Or overdone the make-up. A step forward and a step back which was basically his routine. Though executed well to his ability.
Amber: thought she was sloppy and floppy with the arms in this dance. Will improve.
Vicky: another dark horse! Ooh let’s see her improve then and give the others something to think about in the dance- off….
Chris: didn’t pay much attention as we got a lot of classic Nadiya dancing. Which is a good thing for the viewers ie me but not exactly a good thing for him
Stefan: we’re all having fun with them. For now.
George: this week’s biggest improver. But Alex needs to let him shine rather than compensate with her moves. Interesting to see the next few weeks.
Balvinder: rather good and also surprised me after last week. Question now is whether this was her peak or the start of a good run.
Pro-routine: giving the viewers what we really want to see in a pro-routine! Can they keep it up next week?
Zara Larson : still trying I see. Very trying …rather curious to know how much double sided sticky tape she borrowed from the Blue Peter studio to hold up her bits of material though.

@Cleoriff wrote:Not much to say really.
Not impressed with the musical act Zara Larsson
The couples in the dance off
Chris and Nadiya
and
Tom and Amy.
All judges voted to save Chris and Nadiya.
Next week is Movie Week.
Zara Larsson, singing? Terrible @Cleoriff
I don't always watch strictly.
Anyway ...
I really liked Tom, down to earth straight forward, "Sorry I can't dance" 😂 Liked the ordinaryness of that amongst all that powder and puff.
Judges same as usual, except Shirley Ballas who has had surgery carried out to her face, looks plastic 😂 .. Like
in some film I can't remember the name of that John Travolta played in and they were putting some sort of film/mask over faces to change into someone else 🤔
Well, that's what Shirley reminds me of. Frightening 🫣
Tess Daly could look nice if she tried harder to look normal "nice" and less artificial.
CW can't see properly from under the fringe. Why does she do that? Someone should mention she looks ridiculous.
Apart from "the pretentious ones" mentioned.
The dancers try hard and work hard and it is nice to hear a little about their dancing routines before the show. The costume designers and seamstresses are good.

@TallTrees
Nice to read your comments.
I wasn't keen on Tom from the start. I'd watched him on the Apprentice and he was obnoxious. A real wide boy who thought he knew better than anyone. He didn't. 😂
I think the John Travolta film was called 'Face Off'? https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119094/
Tess Daly is like a Barbie Doll with the same sort of personality. SCD is the only show she presents.
The professional dancers are excellent, turning non dancers into those who can perform well. (Sometimes 😂)

Hello @Cleoriff
Yes the professional dancers have a really difficult job and get through it together with their pupil and have to say remarkable.
The Apprentice is a show that I find disturbing. The constant backstabbing, finger-pointing, cringeworthy. 😂 All acting of course! According to an interview with Alan Sugar told to be nasty for the show.🙄
At Strictly everyone is supportive and the show is happy even happy tears😂
Part of the fun for me will be
What will TD look like next time
and will CW need a guide dog to get around 😆
SB Last but not least will her face start to come off! 😲 AND is it really her!

I type slowly and @jonsie must have posted when I was replying to you
Anyway, so now you know (twice) 😂🤣
No worries @Cleoriff
Twice is good, but if on a WRQ some time I still won't remember 😃
Oh I'm sure you will @TallTrees 😂

Strictly it takes two
Monday
With rara not the skirt 😂
Tom and Amy
Good chat with insight into work for show
Genuine respect for Tom from Amy his work ethic up at 3am work all day then off to dance, wow, wants to dance well and tries.
Lewis and Katya
Lewis finding the dance moves difficult but getting through them well. Katya is critical of the remarks made about Lewis's dance and after hearing her view, I agree.
She's very professional, not going to put up with a worthless throw away judges remark 🤐
Ross and Jowita
Lovely discussion on the dance and difficulties with the prep for dance. Ross is nice Jowita wants him to do well for Scotland, very sensitive and kind thought from her.
Choreography Corner
Like this as it scrutinises judges remarks.
