So Strictly come Dancing is back this autumn with a new old judge (Anton du Beke), a new old presenter for It takes Two (Jenette Manrara), four new pro's who won't be involved and obviously even less money than ever before!

First three of the bottom of the barrel scrapings are:

Tom Fletcher - ex boyband member now writing children's books

Robert Webb - slightly creepy comedian looking for work

AJ Odudu - obligatory "Who's that, never heard of her"

Also there are 15 people defined as celebs this year. I'm half expecting Kathryn Ryan to be involved as she seems to be on every other program for no reason. Also no Blackpool week either.

Sadly, looks like were stuck with the un-dynamic duo of Daly & Winkleman.

Interesting choice of music.

Not interested in seeing John and Johannes with their millionth Latin 'being intimate'. I want to see some real A.T ganchos. Mind you, as you say, the judges will give them 10's even if they fall over!

I think you are correct about D.O couple.

Bad news: Motsi is not on the panel this week due to Covid contact and worse, Cynthia Everio is back to replace her. So poor Dan is now guaranteed a dance-off place by being guaranteed a low score by her without needing to dance.

Just heard that. So Craig (low scorer) is back and Cynthia (follow the gang) as well.

Also means with those, two Johannes and Co will be safer than safe!

CRAIGS BACK!!

Rose and Giovanni, Paso Doble. Terrible choice of music. Shirley said she saw a small mistake (I didn't) I thought it was danced beautifully. Scored 33

Dan and Nadiya. Rhumba. This is supposed to be the dance of death but for me it was damn good. Scored 31

(FGS Craig!)

Aj and Kai. Couples Choice. Just wow really. Dancing on chairs, tables and some beautiful jumps included in the routine. Scored 36 (due to a stupid 8 from Cynthia)

Rhys and Nancy. Waltz. I thought he did very well and was so emotional at the end.  Scored 35

Tilly and Nikita. Samba. Not for me. I didn't feel the emotion or connection. Scored 30

John and Johannes. Argentine Tango. Well, despite everything and all the plaudits from the judges, it wasn't for me. Well danced without a doubt but not what I expect from an Argentine Tango. OF COURSE they scored 39.

So there you go. If it goes by judges scores it will be Dan and Tilly in dance off.

I'll admit, I just didn't like any of the routines in tonights show. Surprisingly, Claudia actually did colour co-ordination without looking ridiculous. So suppose thats a plus point?

Rose: music was poorly done and poorly chosen. She was stiff in places but as Anton said: clean. Too much walking around for me but good detail. Thought she messed up the fan opening at the beginning though. Third from bottom but inherently safe in a dance-off against Dan, Tilly or Rhys.

AJ: I wanted more but on reflection, the technique was outstanding. Just needed a stand out move.

Dan: Ok I was expecting a poor dance being the rhumba but actually got some good detail in there. Can't fault Dan on his timing but its the rhumba so meh.

Rhys: good in places and good to see him in control. However, he does need to work on some of the details like the others before him just to give him an edge. May just peak in time for the final.

Tilly: She tried but thought heavy footed and Nikita kind of dragged her though the latter half. Some good stuff in there though. Difficult week really for her to do this dance and bottom of the leaderboard means the dance-off and she needs zero mistakes to get through against the inevitable contest against Dan.

Johannes: Downright awful. There's been far better interpretations over the years that didn't get high scores. Again, more of Johannes masking John's deficiencies and what a surprise, more synchro moves: ITS BORING.

The wolf pack are planning to go the McDonalds drive thru before devouring Years and Years tomorrow night. And on the way back.

I also objected to Craig giving us a lesson about the Argentine Tango! I know all about the history thanks and the fact it was originally danced between men only. However since those days, we have women coming out of the damn kitchen and showing the men how it should be danced and it certainly isn't anything like that dance of the jojo boys.🙄

Rather a weird futuristic opening number from the professionals.

Tess and Claudia both in black. Are they going to a funeral?

First two couples saved Dan and Nadiya and the JoJo boys.

Rhys and Nancy are in the dance off again

@sheepdog  I hope the wolves didn't eat too well at McDonalds? The clown who makes up Years and Years should be devoured before he is allowed to perform again!!

Tilly and Nikita are the 2nd couple in the dance off.

Tilly and Nikita are eliminated

( no more tears from Gordon which is a relief) 😂

@sheepdog  I missed hearing what dance Johannes and John are doing next week? Is it another Latin? 🙄

@Cleoriff I quite liked the opening number but too short. Probably down to two great music tracks probably helped (Kraftwerk & Yazoo).

Tess: puffy bin bag, Claudia: back to form with ridiculous platform shoes.

The wolfpack will take note next week: there's more than just the performers to eat and will bring sauce 🐺 Years and years were incredibly bland. If I read Karen's face correctly, it was almost going through the contractual motions of having to do something to something she couldn't stand.

Ah yes, Johannes has given the TV audience the big reason to why he won't be winning the Glitterball by doing yet another dance out of hold - the salsa.

Nobody is safe next week from the dance-off even if they top the leaderboard. So by all accounts to two consecutive dance-offs, Rhys is there already.

This weeks choices of randommess:

AJ and Kai: Salsa to Rhythm Is Gonna Get You/Get On Your Feet by Gloria Estefan

Dan and Nadiya: Tango to Santa Maria by Gotan Project

John and Johannes: Salsa to We Are Family by Sister Sledge

Rhys and Nancy: Argentine Tango to In The Air Tonight by Phil Collins

Rose and Giovanni: American Smooth to This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) by Natalie Cole

Hmmm, Dan has a big task to avoid the dance-off especially with good tango music. Rhys, well I'm expecting a stunning routine. Rose may be as consistent as ever but what position she is in the running order may determine her position on the leaderboard.

Which leaves us with the Salsa's. One has pretty much a perfect match and AJ should deliver this one after last week. As for John, We are family isn't what I'd call a salsa beat so I'm looking forward to it being be as predictable as usual to match the song being massacred by the DAO singers. The dance-off beckons for John.

@sheepdogIt's the penultimate F1 in Saudi and this may interfere will Qualifying. If it does, I shall be recording Strictly. Just fair warning. I'm sure I'll hear the wolves howling.😂
