Sayings

Hello guys!

I hope you are having a good week so far. Cheer up! We're almost there.

I thought it could be a good idea to create a thread about the sayings you guys know. Probably some of them are very popular but I'm sure there are a lot I/we have never heard.

What phrases/sayings/proverbs represent your life?

Which ones do you usually say?

I'll go first: 'The grass is always greener on the other side'

Meaning: You always think that what's happening to others is better than yours.

sit still on your hands,

speak when you're spoken to,

& no fidgetting.

Eat It All Up,

What about all those starving kiddies in Africa

(the famine in BIAFRA was att)

You sit there,

at the table,

until the rest of us have finished eating

It's like getting blood out of a stone with you

Go out & play

& Don't get your clothes dirty

the above remembered from growing up in the family home, little village outside Classy Cas'..... was mentioned in the Doomesday Book, but afterwards did not get much funding, despite an Anglo Saxon ruin & beautiful Anglo Saxon church, sad to see now with very heavy chains locking the church porch gates, & all churchyard trees cut down to nowt
