It's that time of year again.
@sheepdogcomes out of hibernation to join me and others like @RunrigForever to comment on BBC's 'flagship' entertainment show. SCD.
I did wonder if it would take place this year as it's had some really bad press recently.
Two of the male professionals, Giovanni Pernice and Graziano Prima have been accused of abusive teaching methods. Giovanni has denied any wrongdoing. Last year he danced with Amanda Abington, who dropped out of the show. Graziano danced with Zara Larsson and he admitted kicking her. He was sacked immediately.
The BBC have said they will be putting advisors into the training rooms to monitor all training and ensuring the welfare of the celebrities. So away we go again.
It doesn't start until September so I'll be adding to this thread as and when other celebs are revealed.
The first two contestants have been announced;
CHRIS McCAUSLAND - COMEDIAN
Chris is a really funny guy. He's also totally blind. As he said, this should be a laugh. 😂
The next contestant is JB GILL (from the boy band JLS)

Tess in rather glamorous even if it was pant based. Claudia in overdoing the hair crimper.
That bit from Hamilton reminded me of having injections to my gum for dental work and preferred it to listening to the rap delivery from the Hamilton girls. On the flip side, the pro-routine was rather excellent and Jason Gilkerson surprised me again with the choreography.
And for the Theft of the Series, Pete was saved by the public thus removing us of a decent challenger for the finals. Montell stood no chance against Tasha. On second viewing I didn't like either routine but Tasha was far more technically adept so there was no other choice.
Double trouble next week so we'll see how Pete copes. He hasn't done the Charleston,Foxtrot, AT or Jive yet so Foxtrot is probably the most likely and jive is going to be too far so expect the Charleston. Tasha hasn't done the jive either nor the Foxtrot so lets see how the BBC fix this.

I've just checked Sarah and Vito's dances
Wk 1 Quickstep
Wk 3 Viennese Waltz
Wk 4 Foxtrot
Wk 8 American Smooth.
So 4 Ballroom, 6 Latin and 1 Couples Choice.
They have done the Samba so it must be Jive and Salsa next week.
Yes, a bit short on Ballroom.

@Cleoriff @RunrigForever And semi-final week brings one good and one not so good dances on the night with perhaps a big shock at the end:
Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola - Tango to Big Love by Fleetwood Mac and Jive to I’m So Excited by The Pointer Sisters
Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Škorjanec - Waltz to (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman by Aretha Franklin and Salsa to Something New by Girls Aloud
Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell - Charleston to When You’re Smiling by The Blue Vipers Of Brooklyn and Viennese Waltz to Nothing Else Matters by Metallica
JB Gill and Lauren Oakley - Salsa to Red Alert by Basement Jaxx and Paso Doble to Requiem for a Tower by Clint Mansell
Pete Wicks and Jowita Przystal - Argentine Tango to Bittersweet by Symphony The Verve and Foxtrot to Beyond The Sea by Bobby Darin
Sarah gets an adult themed pair of tunes but I'm guessing we won't be getting the vocal "effects" of Lynsey Buckingham and Stevie NIcks by the DAO. Pretty much a perfect combo there so her's to lose.
Tasha will more or less get her foot in the final in the first dance but Something New isn't a great tune but we know technically she will pull it off. BTW had a quick maths check on the permutations and turns out the only way she got into the dance-off was by being the lowest voted 😱
Chris has is the most polar opposite set of dances and tunes of the night. Question is can he rely on the popular vote to avoid the dance-off?
JB looks like he's in the final with those. Maybe top of the board as well. Requim for Tower could be a match for Tasha's Paso in style and effect as its that a good tune. Two mins is not enough!
I suspect with two dances, Pete is going to get two simple routines barely masking the lack of technique worthy of a finalist. I'd say dance-off by default but the public vote is another thing.

I've just come to post these!😂
They post them with each couple doing a snapshot of their dance so you have to keep stopping the reel to write down the dance and tune.
Not sure we've ever had a Metallica song on SCD before? Go Chris 😂
Pity Pete is doing the AT to a brilliant song. His 'snapshot' looked poor.
Really surprised Tasha isn't getting the votes but apparently she is classed as a 'professional dancer' on her CV
Love Requiem for a Tower for JB's Paso. One finalist right there!

Semi Final
Tasha and Aljaz. Salsa Excellent dance with great lifts. Transistions could have been better Score 35
2nd Dance Waltz. A really beautiful dance. Lovely flow. Craig said it was 'sick'! Score 40
JB and Lauren. Paso Doble. A really superb Paso. Epic dance. Great cape exchange Scored 39
2nd Dance. Salsa. What a brilliant salsa. Paul Hollywood was in the audience so Craig gave JB a Hollywood handshake. Score 40
Chris and Dianne. Charleston. Amazing as usual. Spot on timing. Score 33
2nd dance. Viennese Waltz. Best dance he's done. First time I've seen Chris so emotional. Score 36
Sarah and Vito. Tango. A very dramatic dance although shoulders hunched at times Score 36
2nd dance. Jive. Out of time on occasion. A good dance but as I thought, not her best Score 36
Pete and Jowita. Foxtrot. Good top line but out of sync. Judges called him Mr Strictly! Score 32
2nd dance. Argentine Tango. Well crikey Pete! A different AT and better than I expected. No ganchos from him but great lifts. His best dance ever. Scored 33
MMA. Raye (who has a brilliant voice)
Becky Hill (singer) I only know she won the first series of the Voice.
