Anton Yelchin, the Russian-born actor who played Chekov in the new Star Trek films, has been killed by his own car at his home in Los Angeles, police say. Only 27 years old, very sad RIP

Yes very sad. It will be a bittersweet event for the Star Trek cast when the new film opens & he's not there.

A real shock! A brilliant young actor and such a shame. Thanks for sharing @jonsie

It was a bit of bad news when I read this the other day. Looking forward to the new Star Trek film as well. R.I.P.

Apparently he had it in neutral & it rolled down towards him

So no handbrake or applied insufficiently. So why didn't it roll immediately as it was on a steep slope
