Well it wouldn't be England without one mistake I guess, but it's a very encouraging performance on the whole.

It was like a banger race at the start. Vettel took out Bottas ...then collided with Alonso in a 2nd incident  then clipped one of the Haas cars. Lewis still in the lead but Vettel has now got into 5th place. After needing a new nose cone  and hearing he has been given a 5 second penalty only!!

Rain expected in 20 minutes

Right so two rounds done and the final games of the group stage throws some interesting possibilities....so if you want to watch the ones of interest, read on...otherwise I'm liking Croatia so far.

Group A Monday 3pm
No point watching as both Russia & Uruguay have qualified so only watch if Russia can maintain momentum after their remarkable start. Don't bother watching Saudi Arabia v Egypt as you'll find it a waste of time.

Group B Monday 7pm
Iran v Portugal is intriguing as loser goes home and Spain v Morocco is more likely a win for Spain. Ok, its Ronaldo v the State of Iran so the pick as you cannot miss an opportunity to see Ronaldo crying if they lose.

Group C Tuesday 3pm
France are through so Denmark need to win to make sure they go through. Lose by 1 and Australia win by 3 clear goals against Peru, means the Danes fly home. Case of two halves - watch Australia 1st half then check if the other score to see if Denmark are losing.

Group D Tuesday 7pm
Group of death for Argentina and they play the Nigerians who will be out for the victory given the turnaround in the Iceland game so worth watching this one. Argentina need to score more than 3 clear goals to have a chance. Croatia are through and have been impressive so far so. Iceland have a outside chance if they win but unlikely to score more than 2 so dependent on the other game being a draw.

Group E Wednesday 7pm
Another group of death involving a South American country. Serbia v Brazil the game to watch Neymar cheat and dive his way to victory and cry for no reason and Serbia have a point to prove. Or if it goes the right way for Serbia, watch Neymar cry continuously and become an internet meme. Loser goes home as Switzerland are unlikely to lose against Costa Rica and a draw is sufficient to progress for them.

Group F Wednesday 3pm
So Germany gave themselves hope after a stunning free kick at the end of the Sweden game. However, they need to win against S.Korea and Sweden need to beat Mexico (who are through) by one more goal than Germany score. Worst result would be for the Germans if both games in a draw and it comes down to number of yellow and red cards. Might need to multi-screen here!

Group G Thursday 7pm
Belgium already through and so the final game against England is only worth watching to see how they match up. Or watch something on your Netflix list if you don’t want to hear the repetitive England punditry. Interesting scenario below on the outcome of Group H so England need to be be cautious.
Tunisia v Panama if you're a fan of WWE. Reminds me to check out Glow on Netflix.

Group H Thursday 3pm
Japan are effectively through if Poland realise they’re at the World Cup and score goals. If its a draw in both games then all Japan need to is match Senegal completely in scoreline, cards etc as they top the group with less yellow cards. Oddly Japan can also lose and go on if Columbia win by at least two. The game to watch is Columbia v Senegal as both teams need to win and more likely to be better entertainment. Columbia to win though.

Which of course means that if Columbia top their group and England draw against Belgium getting more yellow cards thus finishing second they will meet in the next round.

At least we are top of Group G....innocent

Interesting that Gareth Southgate remained calm and said he thought England played better against Tunisia...though gave a lot of credit to the goalscorers today

Having just watched the Portugal v Iran game, I am wondering where these referees were trained.

What an absolute farce of a game. Giving a penalty to Iran which even I could see was ridiculous. So that was an unexpected draw (though Iran still go out). Evil
