Hi all.

Encouraged by 2 fab community members to create this new topic. Hope you like.
Thought this could be a nice space to share some of the poems we have written and inspire each other with our creativity. Poems are a way for me to voice whats going on in my head especially when my anxiety has left me feeling somewhat foggy headed.

Hope you enjoy reading and sharing your work.

Pennywren 😊

Thank you both of you.

Historically this time of the year is extremely hard on my mental health so I want to get away and spend time with my fiancé.

My Friday I may just end up crashing as work I know will be so stressful this week

*dream*

It's simple and easy

The dream of mine:

To find my way back home.

My heart is 200 miles away,

From the place I reside.

There I am safe

There I am home

I'm lost when so far away

Let my dream come true

Let me come home.

Its strange to be far

When my heart resides away.

I travel far

I want to stay home,

Where I can be whole again.

Here is safe

Here is home

200 miles away.

10 days isn't enough

I'm selfish I know

But can't I stay?

To be happy again.

My heart begs me to stay

But my head says not possible.

Morning all.

It was brought to my attention by one of the lovely people here that today is world poetry day. Whilst all I do is write random words with no planning or idea where my words may lead me, I know that there are people all over the world (including here) that have created some wonderful stories with their words and vivid pictures in my heart/heart.

It may not be much but here is a poem for today:

*spring time *

The sun warms the earth,
Flowers unfurl.
Birdsong greets the day,
Celebrating being alive.
Blue skies lift the spirits,
A sign of hope:
Warmer days to come.
The darkness of Winter is behind us,
The Summer is ahead.
Flowers begin to emerge,
Sharing their beauty over the coming weeks.
Snowdrops peek out of barren earth,
Their white petals a welcome sight
Next the glossy daffodil,
Vibrant yellow like a ray of sunshine.
Delicate primroses,
Small, beautiful and oh so welcome.
Carpets of bluebells
Transform bare earth.
All around the earth begins to awake,
Stirring from its Winter slumber.
Grass grows lush once again
Filled with life and vibrancy.
Emerald grass punctuated by pockets of wildflowers:
Snowy white, golden yellow, palest yellow and bold blue hues,
All creating the tapestry called life.
A feast for the senses,
The heady aroma of flowers,
The burst of colour on once barren soil,
Each petal like velvet to the touch.
Each on a small miracle.
Welcome the Spring
Embrace it with open arms.
