Hi all.

Encouraged by 2 fab community members to create this new topic. Hope you like.
Thought this could be a nice space to share some of the poems we have written and inspire each other with our creativity. Poems are a way for me to voice whats going on in my head especially when my anxiety has left me feeling somewhat foggy headed.

Hope you enjoy reading and sharing your work.

Pennywren 😊

I like your Sagittarius poem @Pennywren .

I`m a Capricorn so next zodiac sign along... don`t know much about traits etc for zodiac signs, so don`t know if they apply to me

I too am Capricorn ... the sign of the goat

Imagine the creature up a mountain ... sure-footed ... part of the herd ... with their 'bells' on

How many times did Michael Palin in his travels around the World eat freshly killed and cooked goat ? ..... he said he could never get used to the killing of the animal

Goats have a goatherd ... and they are brought close to the settlement at night because they are valuable to the owners as just that ... = ... fresh meat without a fridge

Capricorns are supposed to be high acheivers ... ah, well, yes = regarding myself - I am not an obvious Capricorn = my claim to fame would be 'I Brought Up My Son' ....... Letters after my name are GEM (Good Enough Mum) ....... my son always credits me with bringing him up with care and in other circumstances he would never have known his dad ....... these are the lad's words

@Mi-Amigo you have acheived great things before joining O2Community in eg The Music Industry ....... on the O2C you are acheiving great things with your outstanding ability to create games we can all take part in ..... becoming a very valuable member of O2C

Rock On @Mi-Amigo slight_smile

... Now back on topic...

FOR A FRIEND

I know there is

Someone I can call

For help and support

Should I ever fall.

A voice who`s words

Make me smile

Someone who goes

That extra mile.

We may not always

See eye-to-eye

But we are honest

No hurt, nor lie

Through the smooth

And the rough

I don`t say

Often enough

"Thank you"

For in the end

Out there is

A true friend.

Wow that's lovely @Mi-Amigo smiling

Not only a great gamesmaster but a poet as well. I love poetry but couldn't write one unless I tried very hard, so I'll leave it to the experts.

A beautiful poem. Thanks for posting. clap

What a lovely poem @Mi-Amigo

(I can't write poetry, but do appreciate it, am able to create pictures in my mind to the words) smiling

Back to your poem @Mi-Amigo ............... FOR A FRIEND

The words resonate with me

I have a dear friend ..... we get along well ..... understand each other implicitly ... have an agreement that if one of us needs to talk to the other = we are there for each other 24/7 round the clock, no matter day or night

We are lucky to have found each other

Thank you @jonsie

My poem is dedicated to someone who has helped me, and like you, won`t name them.

As this lovely thread had drifted off topic, I wanted to write something which would bring it back to Poetry Corner.

I am pleased my poem has been so well received.

I look forward to the next poetry offerings from our resident poet @Pennywren

Hi all been away for a bit with crazy work hrs but back now. Lovely to see what others have been writing and Mi-Amigo that poem is truly lovely 😊
Touches my heart. Thank you.

As for resident poet....that thought makes me blush!

Here is todays creation;

Birdsong
A melody of natures brilliance.
I hear a blackbird,
Robin too.
Their melody flows across the breeze,
Carrying their song to me.
A sense of peace fills me
As I lie hear and listen.
Their song paints a picture
Of warmth, sunshine
And joy.
With the lilt of the song,
I see blue skies,
Sunshine and fluffy white clouds.
In my heart happiness blossoms
And fills my very soul.
The gentle call of a blackbird
Mingles with that of a sparrow.
'Here i am.
This is me.
Im born to be here and free.
I song my song of celebration,
I weave my story for you:
I am alive,
I am happy.
Come celebrate with me'
This is their song,
This is their truth.

Good to have you back @Pennywren - thank you for your kind words about my poem.

Whether you blush or not, you are our resident poet and all credit to you for creating this wonderful thread.

I love the way you create images in your poems - like in your latest poem "Birdsong" with

"The gentle call of a blackbird
Mingles with that of a sparrow..."

and the lines which follow.
