What happens when O2 gains another atom? It becomes Ozone.

I've been reading about the speculation of a 3/Hutchinson buying out O2 and whilst it might mean an enhancement in signal coverage for 4G. What does this mean as a bigger picture?

More customers on the same network.

Possible more cuts in quality of service with off-shore customer support. Generally speaking O2's customer care is generally OK and the people answering do resolve any issues. A recent call to another call centre which was based abroad left me feeling frustrated and my problem unsolved; which I resolved myself.

I'm just worried that the actual company I've used for years, relatively reliably is going to turn into the new Talktalk and become completely rubbish.

This may be just speculation however I just hope that's just all it is.

Having 4G would be nice although it's not the be-all and end-all.

I was with 3 for a short while and to be fair their customer service wasn't bad.  If the perks offered by 3 become available to O2 customers then I will be a very happy customer!  I also found I could get 3G on 3 in a lot of places where other networks struggle.

It's nice to see different peoples opinions on the possible merger.

O3 has a nice ring to it slight_smile
