For clarification. I wasn't actually suggesting that everything Off Topic went into the Virtual Lounge. I was giving an explanation as to how it was started....
@jonsietold us the history of Wanty's I did the same with the Virtual Lounge in case anyone was being dismissive of it.....
A lot of people posted there initially....it is still there for people to chat. It does not belong to a certain group.
If that is anyone's interpretation...then that is the fault of the individual(s) refraining from posting....

So an individual can find the vaarious silly off topic threads but can't find the virtual lounge or wanty's? Your argument is absolute tosh... with respect!

Why would anyone coming to the forum for the first time be looking to post in an Off Topic section? People coming here for the first time come here because they have specific problems, either with their phone or with their bill, or something O2 related. They don't come here to be 'social' or to read posts about topics unrelated to O2.
The Off Topic threads don't belong mixed in with threads that are O2 specific or are about phone problems. Let it have its own section, by all means, but keep it separate.

A separate log in from the Community pages would be best.

I'm awaiting the reasoned response from everyone's favourite uncle. Sometimetimes the silly retoricals would baffle all normal thinking people. Oops...I feel a PM coming on....

Yes. Exactly. I'm sure it can easily be done.

The clue is in the title - 'off topic'
That's all i'm going to say on it as i'm bored of all of these debates whereby there's mostly novice people wanting to chat to other members and have some kind of input vs the people who think that they own the site and want everything their way.
Enjoy the debate guys
That boredom has kicked in when the majority of Facebook style posts originate from this and a tiny number of members......
The majority (of regulars at least) would rather they were separated or not there at all.

bandofbrothers wroteAs we all know I post what I hope is interesting news related to Technology/ Phones / Tablets and Operating Systems.
I also hope if someone performs a Google Search and gets the Community Forum as a hit they may come here and learn ,and possibly join if they are an O2 Customer.
@Anonymous this is exactly what in my opinion the Community is about and why I have started this thread after another not insignificant batch of threads were posted this morning on what is quite frankly inappropriate on this community.
The comments about technology, yes absolutely they fit here.
Note For clarity I have only pasted part of @Anonymous original post relevant to my reply.

Exactly the reason for the thread today. Earlier people talked about "upping post count" well given that most of these off topic threads emanate from just one or two people surely one must ask the question "are they just upping their post count - perhaps just to get a reward?" That has been asked lately.
@Bambino is correct. If you want off topic then keep it separate.
In my opinion. ..... on Facebook
