"Radar signals show a Malaysia Airlines plane that has been missing for more than 24 hours may have turned back, Malaysian officials have said."
My heart goes out to all the families awaiting news of this tradegy.

I seen a news flash about this on my BBC News App. I haven't really heard much about this yet.

This is a worrying time for all the families but whether the plane turned back or not, I fear the worst. It means the search area is much wider than it was initially thought to be.
On a personal note, the plane went missinga couple of hours after my flight took off from Thailand. I had quite a few texts awaiting me from local Thai people at a stopover in Dubai, checking I was ok because they had no idea of geography or airlines/routes, only that an aircraft had disappeared in the general region shortly after I had left.

Not sure if it's just me or not but post 9/11 I've become very wary about my fellow passengers especially flying longhaul to or over the middle east. Totally wrong of me and I feel a little guilty but these are worrying times we live in.
Not saying this is anything but an unexplained accident but the inevitable rumours are being put out there. Fingers crossed for the families.

Yes it is an awful thing. It is saying they think the plane may have turned back...though nothing confirmed.
@jonsie On the news this am it said investigators were examing CCTV footage of two passengers who
'are believed to have boarded the plane with forged passports'
