For anyone interested in such things the link below gives an insight into the UK's internet traffic volume in near real-time using data collected from the London Internet Exchange (LINX) network peering infrastructure, given that a lot more people will be working from home, it'll be interesting to see how high this volume gets over the coming weeks. as a lot of traffic that would have stayed within corporate Local Area Networks (LANs) will be going across ISP networks as VPN traffic and will traverse LINX on it's way to ISPs used by these corporates.

What is LINX?
In the early days of Internet use in the UK all traffic had to go via connections to the US which was slow and expensive so BT and a number of other then new ISPs in the UK decided to set up a non-profit company to build and operate an infrastructure to allow them to exchange traffic bound for each others' networks directly and so LINX was born.

I don't want @Bambino to feel left out so looking for an equivalent for North America but they have far more Internet Exchange Points than we do and a lot of them are provided by for-profit companies such as Equinix who tend to keep the info for their own customers.
