Found this article quite an interesting read. It discusses how computing power will soon be on the same level as the human brain and the potential for uploading consciousness to the Internet or a robot body.

I'd probably give it a go if the process would not diminish who I am in anyway. That said the prospect of living forever isn't too appealing so I would certainly want an off switch!

Resistance is useless.
I am already part of the Borg - I am one of about three in my organisation who wears a Bluetooth unit for our Lync phones. I have joked my Borg name is One of None.

We are slowly becoming a very basic version of the borg with all the wearables these days. It won't be long until we're implanting tech just like the borg!

Already happening, with hearing aids being implanted directly behind the ear and some "grinders" designing and installing (for want of a better word) items already....

That's fascinating @gmarkj! The part about the guy who can "hear heat" and detect wifi signals and EM fields is very interesting. All this will only get more advanced as time goes by.
