Has anybody else wondered why, after all these years and how technology has progressed, they still use safety pins to attach names and numbers to the front and back of athletes' vests ?

Seems some of the old methods are best!

I'd like to stick a few safety pins in our over-hyped prima donna football 'stars'. I ask you, who would you prefer as a role model for the younger generation, spoilt overpaid footballers or our wonderful dedicated stars of Team GB?

But even babies' nappies have developed on from the safety pin.

Especially for the Olympics, where every country has an event logo'd vest, you would have thought that IOC could have specified that 4 pieces of velcro had to be attached to the front and back within certain dimensions.

I think I've read before there's a penalty if they come off, you still can't beat a safety pin. Smiley LOL

Every medal seems to inspire the next competitors.

Except some of our track & field athletes who seem to have suddenly become an army of walking wounded, I think that's 3 so far and that's just in the morning session.....they could blame their injuries on the poor summer I suppose.
