Calling all music fans 📣.

You may or may not realise it, but arguably the world's biggest music festival is happening this weekend. Today, many thousands of people will begin travelling to Worthy Farm, for Glastonbury (Glaston-Berry, if you're American) Festival. Let's hope they're not too disrupted by the train strikes either 😅.

I feel fortunate to say that I've been five times. But, how? That can't be possible. Yes, it's true; actually, it was five times in a row. Very lucky to say the least. Alas, this luck has now run out and I do not have a golden ticket this year.

So, anyway, I thought I would give the best place on planet Earth a well deserved shout-out today!

  • Have you looked at the line-up?
  • Which act would you most want to see?
  • Have you ever been? If so, share a story or two.

I would love to see Paul McCartney this year! But, will make do with watching it on TV... That being said, if you spot some good highlights, let me know, please 🙏!

Happy camping .

Tonight we have Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds at 9pm on the Pyramid Stage (shown on BBC 2)

Then Paul McCartney at 10.30pm shown on BBC 1. Can't wait. 🤗

Paul McCartney, what a bloody legend. ❤️

Two and a half hours on stage with a breathtaking set. He was stopped in his tracks before the start of the 2nd song when the crown sang an impromptu version of Happy Birthday which made Paul very happy indeed.

He brought on guests, Dave Grohl (who I love) from Foo Fighters and Bruce Springsteen. Dave said he had two flights cancelled but he wasn't going to miss this set and the chance of appearing with Paul. Dave sang "I saw her standing there" and "Band on the Run" with Paul and Bruce sang "Glory Days and "I Wanna Be Your Man"All credit to Paul's band, who were superb.

He did old songs and new songs, each and everyone a real delight.

Paul sang "I Got A Feeling" as a virtual duet with John Lennon. ❤️

What stunned me, was there were 'kids' in that audience who could have been my grandchildren and they knew all the words to the songs. Such is the power and love for the Beatles and Paul McCartney.

Stunning, simply stunning.

Setlist of 38 songs he performed HERE

I feel sorry for the acts who have to follow that set today 😂

Spreadsheet to plan which stage and when for what band? That's dedication, @Cleoriff 😉

Never been, never wanted to go - but have travelled to single-band (plus support act(s)) events held in the open air - Skye, Edinburgh Castle, (missed Stirling!), Glasgow, Coventry (that was moved indoors, can't remember why), etc. Great in good weather, and I have found that a great place to listen to live music events in Edinburgh Castle grounds is the gardens just outside Waverley Station in Edinburgh 😱

Coventry (where I was born and lived until I was 24) the festival was moved inside due to the lashing rain @pgn (If it's the one I was thinking of).

I always wanted to go to Glastonbury but can't bear camping!

Age isn't a problem (not when the headline act singer is 80 years old.) I saw one lady, with her zimmer entering when the gates opened. When interviewed she said it was her first visit but was delighted to be going as she shared a birthday with Paul McCartney. Also said her grandson was going to queue overnight to get the best place to watch Paul. 😂

🤣 re the lady with the Zimmer, just right - and her son queuing for a good vantage point 👍 Actually, at those events I have been to, most people in the crowd are helpful and understanding, bouncers aside. Great atmosphere!

skynews-paul-mccartney-dave-grohl_5815074.jpg

A stunning and brilliant performance.

Tribute songs to John [Here Today] and George [Something]; surprises with appearances of Dave Grohl and Bruce Springsteen; Paul`s virtual duet with John [I Got A Feeling].

Long may you carry on rocking Paul. Love ya ❤️

Just an image of Dave Grohl with Paul

Dave Grohl.jpg

Also when Paul was doing My Valentine dedicated to his wife Nancy, on the screen appeared Johnny Depp and Natalie Portman doing sign language to the song.

I wouldn't mind but....

1) Johnny did not appear like that, he was on a screen at the back with Natalie Portman (as shown in the image I showed.)

3) The Express have their usual take on things which bear no relevance to what actually happened.

2) The crowd were delighted to see JD. I never heard any boos or cries of shame. Completely the opposite in fact.

Never let what actually happened get in the way of a chance to spread discord, sadly, @Cleoriff - and I heard the crowd at one of the Glastonbury stages gave vent to how people really feel:
