From 1/1/2025 Lewis Hamilton became a Ferrari driver.
The Ferrari media team released a very clever post.
Note the time it was posted. 16.44. 16 is Charles Leclerc's race number and 44 is Lewis Hamiltons number. (they are now team mates). Interesting to note that Mercedes have lost just under a million followers and Ferrari have gained over a million.
With all his farewell commitments to Mercedes, Lewis has not tested in last years Ferrari. (All new drivers did a test run in Abu Dhabi.) It's understood, he will be testing in Marinello, Italy, later this month.
A lot to learn. New car, new steering wheel, new team, new race engineer and new language.
Personally, I'm not expecting him to do that well initially. Only time will tell.
* F1 live at the O2 Arena London. February
* Pre- Season Testing in Bahrain 26th-28th February.
* 1st Race - Australia Friday March 14th-Sunday 16th March.

These are the results currently. Lewis went onto softs to catch Antonelli. He was about to overtake and his brakes went.
He had to slow, Charles overtook him as Lewis was fighting to keep his car on track On the last lap Alonso was catching him. However as LH had exceeded track limits, there's a chance he may be given a penalty.
At the start Lando barged past his team mate giving his car a knock. Oscar was fuming and asked the team if they were going to allow that. They didn't change anything. So no doubt there will be discussions about that
McLaren have won the Constructors Championship. Great for them. x

Post race Hamilton was hit with a 5 second time penalty
The stewards decided Hamilton was found guilty of “leaving the track without justifiable reason multiple times” while managing a brake issue on his car in the closing stages of Sunday night’s race.
Luckily the only driver close to him was Alonso
So the above result should show Hamilton in 8th whilst Alonso moves to 7th
NB: Remember Hamilton had lost his brakes so was trying to slow his car down to avoid a collision with the wall. I think he did well to get that car to the end of the race (but I'm biased) 😂

Given the multiple crashes in practice and qualifying I was surprised there was no safety car in the actual race.
Bit of a procession really with no excitement apart from Lando and Oscar at the first corner...

I agree @jonsie. Considering the track was damp and slippery at the start due to morning rain.

Having a quick read of social media which is full of McLaren this morning.
Lots of congratulations to them for winning the Constructors.
However also a lot of criticism about the way they are 'favouring' Norris over Piastri. .
Piastri is currently leading the drivers championship (he's Australian). Norris is British and in 2nd. (about 25 points behind).
I think they are favouring Lando
1) He's been with them longer
2) He's British.
However, I don't think it's anything to do with the race yesterday. On the first lap, Lando got his elbows out and tried to get past his teammate and Verstappen. He managed to get past Oscar but knocked him (close to the wall) and nearly made the move on Max but that was too much. Oscar was fuming and made his feelings known to the team. He was hoping they would ask Lando to give the place back but they didn't.
(Nor should they) Yes Oscar is his team mate but also a rival for the WDC. Also McLaren have the rule that they are free to race.
In my opinion, Oscar should have known that Lando would try something off the line and been more prepared for it. It will be interesting to see how it goes in the US in 2/52 time. Lando won that race last year.

Yes let them race
Lewis had his battles with his own team mate Rosberg a good while back
Rival team mates are always good for the sport as long as they keep it fairly clean but the McClarens and both drivers are so evenly matched that it has been far from mundane viewing
