So breaking news before the start of the 2024 season:

Lewis Hamilton appears to be making a move to Ferrari for the 2025 season

A major shock as he signed a two year contract with Mercedes last season. So whether it was one year with an opt out clause for 2025 is anyone's guess.

This seems to be anything but a silly season rumour!

NB As Charles Leclerc has just signed a contract extension with Ferrari, it looks as if Lewis would be replacing Carlos Sainz.

It won't be a popular move. Also, not sure how Mercedes will handle that news THIS year as Lewis is driving for them until the end of 2024.

Will they put all their eggs in George Russells basket? (Hamilton came 3rd in the drivers championship last year and Russell came 8th)

What a great race. McLaren started on pole Lando Pole and Oscar 2nd

They had a 2 stop strategy. Ferrari decided on a one stop. Leclerc for Ferrari won the race to delight of the Tifosi. George had a slight crash on the opening lap which knocked the end plate from his front wing.

Dropped to 7th. Lewis finished 5th and Max 6th.

Drivers Standings.

Kevin Magnussen who drives for Haas, has been given a race ban for Baku as he has accumulated 12 penalty points on his licence since the start of the season.

Ollie Bearman, the 18 year old rookie (who stood in for Sainz when he was ill with appendicitis) will be replacing Kevin. Ollie will be driving for Haas in 2025.

Adrian Newey the legendary F1 car designer who has been responsible for for the race winning design of Red Bull cars for years, has been signed by Aston Martin.

Newey left Red Bull earlier this year after Horner, RBR team principal was accused of inappropriate behaviour with a female employee.

It was hoped that Newey would go to Ferrari as he has always expressed an interest in working with Lewis Hamilton. However this would have meant a move to Italy.

Lawrence Stroll, the owner of Aston Martin and father of Lance Stroll who drives for them, swept in and offered Newey 100million pounds to sign for them. The AM factory is near Silverstone.

No secret that Lawrence Stroll would do anything to help his son win a Drivers Championship. This will never happen as Lance is pretty useless.

However Aston's other driver is 2xWDC  Fernando Alonso, he has constantly beaten Lance in every F1 race.😂

Although Newey has signed for Aston Martin, he can't start working for them until March 2025. So he won't have any input to the 2025 car. Regulations change in 2026 so this is the car which will be designed by Newey.

McLaren have eventually decided that they will prioritise Lando Norris in the drivers championship.

In my opinion, 'a day late and a dollar short' Lando had to give up a win to Oscar 'to make things far'.

Problem is, they are both good drivers and all  the constructors are interested in, is winning the Constructors championship.

However, with 6 races still to go, Lando is the only one with a slight chance of catching Max. He is 62 points behind him.

Baku this weekend.  Bring it on.
