So breaking news before the start of the 2024 season:

Lewis Hamilton appears to be making a move to Ferrari for the 2025 season

A major shock as he signed a two year contract with Mercedes last season. So whether it was one year with an opt out clause for 2025 is anyone's guess.

This seems to be anything but a silly season rumour!

NB As Charles Leclerc has just signed a contract extension with Ferrari, it looks as if Lewis would be replacing Carlos Sainz.

It won't be a popular move. Also, not sure how Mercedes will handle that news THIS year as Lewis is driving for them until the end of 2024.

Will they put all their eggs in George Russells basket? (Hamilton came 3rd in the drivers championship last year and Russell came 8th)

RACE: SILVERSTONE.

Not a dry eye in the house, Lewis Hamilton is the King of Silverstone. 9th win at this track. Two and half years since his last win and to do it at his home track was unbelievable. The crowd went wild. Just brilliant. ❤️

George had to retire the car due to a water pressure issue.

A bit of a fairytale really @jonsie ...another record. The only driver ever to win 9 races at the same track

Just brilliant.  When his engineer Bono told Ted Kravitz, once Lewis said 'Leave me to drive man'. I knew then, he would win'.  Bono was in tears as well.

(Lewis must be wondering if he has made the right decision going to Ferrari! They have been pretty poor since Monaco.)

Yes @gmarkj. One of the reasons everyone from Mercedes was so emotional.

There were pictures posted of the staff at Brackley and Brixworth watching the race and then jumping for joy at the chequered flag...followed by hugging and crying when they heard Lewis's post race interview.

Hungary F1.

This weekend F1 is at the Hungaroring circuit where it's usually hot. Today 30c with track temperature 50c.

Red Bull have bought a load of updates as well as Ferrari.

Although it's only Practice there was evidence that the updates are working well.
