I am a Crazy Cat Lady @Pipstop78

Had many cats from when lived in family home ....... 1st was Sacha Apollo ... = ... he came with an extensive accreditation from his dam & sire ....... we had him as a kitten - Sealpoint Siamese .......... my lad's cat Wispa made 14.5 years and my rescue cat Marty say 17.5 years - just over 2 years ago since 'he crossed the rainbow bridge' ....... Marty broke the Mould ....... no more cats therefore ....... Happy Memories.

Wishing you happy times with your dog ..... x ... slight_smile

Unfortunately not, I have enough problems looking after myself (meh, I have disabilities) without the added responsibility of an animal.

Since I wrote on this thread, sadly we had to have our cat Gizmo put to sleep.

His condition deteriorated rapidly and he started to vomit blood.

So RIP Gizmo 27/05/2025. Age 17. ❤️

Thanks @gmarkj

Over the years, we've had 8 cats. I'd always wanted a ginger. Then 17 years ago my son brought over two cats (a brother and sister) The male was ginger and the female was tortoiseshell. I chose the Ginger one and called him Gizmo. Then I discovered the little torty had gone to a house with 3 dogs and wasn't happy at all, so I took her as well and called her Lily.  Thought they would be friends. 😂

They hated each other!!!

However, Gizmo was a real outdoor cat, so Lily stayed mainly indoors.

A few weeks ago, Gizmo started to become unwell. Stopped eating as much, was losing weight and generally lost the joy of being outdoors. Then he started vomiting blood. I've had enough cats to know when it's time.

So I took him to the vets. As she said, 'no-one knows their pets like their owners' and agreed it was time.

I held him while she put him to sleep. We decided to have him cremated.

The company they use, guarantee a single cremation of your animal. We had him back in a recyclable small box and buried him in the garden.

There have been a lot of tears cried over him but that's always the way isn't it? They are part of your family.

My husband said there will be no more pets in this house. We've still got Lily and she spent a few days looking for Gizzy but I really don't think she misses him at all. 🤗
