Since a thread hasn't been started yet....the contestants lined up for Dancing on Ice have been revealed during the last days. You might have missed with the ever so exciting Conservative Party Conference taking all the headlines but if you're like me, you probably don't care either.

Anyway:

https://www.radiotimes.com/news/tv/20**Personal info**/dancing-on-ice-2019-contestants-line-up-rumou...

(replace personal info with 20**Personal info**)

So next year you get to witness:

Gemma Collins: some sort of reality show regular who's claim to fame is being on a contrived reality show. so claiming the Z-lister status of the show. Quote "I don’t know how they’re going to lift me up and how fast I can move around the ice, but I really want to give it a go!". Somehow I don't think thats going to happen.

Richard Blackwood: another celeb looking to remain on TV after leaving Eastenders. Apparently has played the role of Donkey in Shrek the musical

James Jordan: yes, the Mr Bad Attitude from Strictly has found a job! Big advantage but lets face it, everyone is only going to tune in to see him fall and fail. Then there's the potential showdowns with Jason adding to the tension....

Brian McFadden: has he got some book or record deal coming out soon? At least his appearance fee will cover his drving fine

Saira Khan: runner up of the Apprentice series one and probably its best success. I'll expect her to work hard and do very well as that's her nature.

Ryan Sidebottom: Cricketer apparently. Looks rather like Sean Walsh currently on Strictly so maybe nobody will notice if they swap....

Melody Thornton: another Pussycat Doll. Is there some sort of backstage agreement that there must be at least one PCD member on UK TV at any given time?

Joe Mangle Mark Little : Ah the ever popular Mark is back on UK TV. Serious rival to Todd Carty's legacy of comedy. Will he be better that Cheryl Baker from last year? We'll find out soon enough.

Jane Danson: Token Coronation Street entry. Cue lots of former Coronation Street videos wishing her good luck every single week and lets try not be surprised when they partner her with Dan Whiston (he's being creative director so may not be skating).

Obviously we'll be getting the obligatory Love Island entry at some point...

Apparently they've brought back Karen Barber as Head Coach so with James Jordan and Jason Gardiner involved this might be worth watching. Sadly ITV are sticking with The Gopher and Wannabe but who will they get for the commentator?

Well I have voted via the app and will tell you now I did NOT vote for Gemma Collins.

I think the build up she was given was bordering on the ridiculous. She is notorious for being lazy and giving up.

I thought the routine was poor and  no she didn't remind me of Beyonce at all.

Stupid woman!

You surprise me @Cleoriff joy

And no I didn't vote for the silly mare either. It was truely a toss up who was the worst, Mark Little or her. But I like Mark Little and can't stand her. Though to be fair, she didn't realise she got through. But that's her TOWIE fanbase not because she was any good. Beyoncé, seriously Gemma is living in a dream world.

James was a shoe-in to get through after his performance. And Jane as well, she danced on her own, the first week, people. An achievement, considering how many can't manage it by week 10!

Saara I think will be good given the right dance moves. I wasn't impressed with her routine, which I think hampered rather than helped her.

Didi Cohn got through on nostalgia as there was nothing in her routine that was stand-out. But her iconic role in Grease combined with her age kept her in.

I'm still gobsmacked at James Jordan. I know he's a fantastic dancer. But there is a difference between stepping out on a dance floor and attempting it on ice and he nailed it. But he's a perfectionist, so why am I surprised.

Enjoyed the show and am looking forward to next week to see the next 6. Does James have any competition I wonder.

Mark and Brianne are in the skate off next week...No surprise there.

Brilliant final dance choreographed and danced by Dan Whiston and other professionals

Sad he's not skating this season....

Yes, it was. Far better than the professionals on SCD last season. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Just saw @Cleoriff's comment about the ending. I agree but will say it was inevitable and, hopefully there will be a new series starting where this one finished.

Still say it was the best Luther to-date, though.

I think Wes Nelson should be good....we also have the Pussycat Doll Melody whatsherface.

However, it's a wait and see scenario.

Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed it and so pleased it's back...

Oh a moan about Jason. He gave Sarah Aalto 4.5 (higher than the previous 2 contestants, Jane and Didi).....

Then went on to give the worst critique out of the 3 of them. Needs to be a bit more consistent!!

PS...yes it was the best Luther to date.

Slightly off topic, I'm looking forward to the new police drama starting at 9pm on ITV called Manhunt.

Based on a true story and starring Martin Clunes...

Thoroughly enjoyed the show

WOW James Jordan nailed it ... Wonderful ... nice to see wife Ola in the audience

Pleased Jayne & Chris are on the ice panel of judges ... they each give softly spoken constructive criticism

Gemma should have been in the ice dance off for next week ... can't stand her falseness ... shame for Matt

Really liked Saara, there is much more to come from her

Best Music: Michael Buble, the song James Jordan danced to

Best Outfit: James Jordan & his pro partner

Bring it on for next Sunday

So James Jordan was the biggest surprise of the night. By some considerably margin across all series. Judges will be hard on him from now on.

As for Gemma Collins, I see that Jason never got to finish off his (rightful) demolition of her routine by Gopher & Wannabee so expecting some serious cutting remarks next time round especially directed towards Matt yahoo

Everyone else, typical DoI contestant journey material. Lets see how next week compares.

Did anyone identify what fish Jason was wearing as a tie?

@sheepdog

I didn't notice what fish was on his tie, though I did think his toupee had grown a lot longer?
