Just a reminder to any and all interested. Dancing On Ice starts tomorrow on ITV at 18:00.

Personally am really looking forward to it, particularly as Torville and Dean are now on the judging panel.

Bit of an addition here as I am watching Vera and am slow typing.

Good to see the @Glory1 and I disagree about the saved candidate. joy

I fully support Lemar as he has had a lot of obstacles to overcome...brought in last minute etc. However I saw no improvement in him this week from last week.....He also stumbled at the end of the skate off.

Stephanie had improved no end and I felt she had more to give...

I can see Lemar being in the skate off every week, and unless he goes up against Cheryl he will probably be saved again..

Such a shame that the public save people for all the wrong reasons...upside_down

Edited to add I am NOT a fan of Torville and Dean as judges. Bit of an outrageous thing to say ...but the show worked better when they were coaching and skating.

I think DOI has returned on a bit of a low budget ths year...

Outrageous it may be @Cleoriff but I agree I prefer Torville and Dean skating and coaching. I feel they're uncomfortable in their new roles.

Agree with you @Cleoriff & @Glory1 ... but I do like the professional partners doing the choreography ... however ... I do sooo miss Jayne & Chris dancing on the ice ... & ... I'm not in a position to see them skate in a tour, I saw them once many years ago at Sheffield Arena, long  before DOI, this is when a local coach company got a trip up Dance Dance

Well I ended up watching whilst researching some really undocumented methods of installing software without point and clicking.....Jake was the best of the night, Perri did well but as the judges say needs more skating. Max kind of not paying attention but he's a good one. Rest of them, didn't do much better than the first week.

Rest of the show: Philip Schofield just won't shut up and why does he think he can play on the innuendo's on a primetime evening slot where its largely designated family viewing? Was this disco week or disco-inspired week? Cheryl Baker is heading to a level lower than Jason if she continues to do the bare minimum and get pushed by Dan and being saved by her fans. Actually Dan does a lot of pushing around of his partners so why am I surprised?

Quite enjoyed how the judges ganged up on Lemar's partner Melody and told her she wasn't good enough! Not sure on why he got saved mysefl - too jerky but trying hard on his own though Stephanie was smoother but not enough solo time which in the eyes of T&D, is what they want to see rather than the display.

Which is why Jayne and Chris are missed as choreographers and coaches. .... They would have pushed Lemar to do more. The problem is there are a lot of new pro skaters who probably have limited experience in teaching non skaters to dance. The new pro's have probably spent their lives skating and being coached by others.....too much for them to take on I think.

I think we can all agree Lemar is uncomfortable on ice and with that stumble I thought he was a goner tbh. But @sheepdog's comment about what Torville and Dean look for is spot on which is why Lemar was saved in spite of his stumble.

Very good point @Cleoriff. T&D were certainly better choreographers and coaches pushing celebrities to their limits. With a few exceptions the celebrities seem to be doing safe routines. Jake is pushing the envelope as is Max, Perri and Kem (though I do find him obnoxious). Wonder what they'd all be doing if T&D were stiil coaching. Real shame they're not.

One other thing I'd say regarding Cheryl still being in. Those voting for her because of her age, so what she's 63 big deal. She had the option to say no and tbh if she had she'd not be missed. Her age is irrelevent she just can't skate end of. You can either skate or learn to skate or you can't. Everyone, as far as I know started on a level playing field. Her age as I've said shouldn't be a factor.. Nor should loving her partner or Bucks Fizz. Just how well, or not, she skated.

Totally agree with that. The DOI forums are totally mixed with their views so you can see why she gets voted in week after week. People are even saying they vote for her because she is 63!  I watched her and Dan on Lorraine last week. She has no shame. She threw in her age and the accident she had 30 years ago. Lorraine said "Dan has won twice before" ...Cheryl said, 'He might win again then" O.M.G.!!

Delusions of grandeur or what?

Well I had a two hour 10 minute episode of early dementia and found myself watching it before Vera came on. I have to say that I agree with everything you have all said. I'm no dancer  and whilst my ice skating days are well behind me, I can tell when dance partners are out of sync, when legs are stiff and skating comes difficult when you have never done it before. It's easier for some than others and there are some on there who are finding it so difficult that they should be voted out. I didn't agree with either of the public votes or the judges votes on the two shows. As for Cheryl? Can't dance, certainly can't ice dance and is living on former glory.
