Dancing On Ice 2021

The first of 12 contestants has been announced for the new series starting in 2021

Myleene Klass

The judging panel remains the same as last year with Torvill and Dean, AShley Banjo and John Barrowman.

It will be hosted by Phil and Holly.

I read somewhere there will be a change in professional skaters. Not sure of all of them, though I do know that Alex Murphy who partnered Joe Swash to his unexpected win last year, has not been asked to return!

Thanks for the info on songs for this week @Cleoriff 

I always like "props" week and think that some might struggle [depending on who is given what prop].

Still rooting for Faye to nail it and to win DOI.

Semi Final Week. With Props.

Faye and Matt...Used golf clubs. A brilliant routine, used the clubs all the way through and there were little red balls all over the rink. Chris said he thought they could have used the golf cart as well. Matt replied so 3 props then?

Scored 37 (undermarked)

Lady Leshurr and Brendyn (Chairs as props) Excellent routine and finished with a headbanger. Did well using two chairs. Scored 40

Colin and Klebara (Used a hotel trolley) Had a stumble at the start but generally a good skate. Amazed that Chris and Jayne marked them higher than Kate and Matt!! Scored 37 (overmarked)

Sonny Jay and Angela. (Used a Large table) Didn't use it much at all. Had a poor lift. Again Chris and Jayne scored them higher than Faye. In fact he made 3 mistakes in that routine Scored 37. (overmarked)

Voting open now before 2nd Dance. Whoever comes bottom in this vote is in skate off.

Next skate will be to a song/routine which means something to the celebs.

Faye and Matt. Skated to Simply the Best by James Bay. An absolutely superb skate. So emotional. Scored 40

Colin and Klebara. Skated to We Love Your Way. A good skate but nothing special (imo) Scored 38.

Lady Leshurr and Brendyn. Skated to No-One A very good skate with a lot of emotion. Scored 37.0. (undermarked)

Sonny Jay and Angela. Skated to Sweet Disposition. A lovely performance, very emotional. Scored 38.

So that's it, posting now before I'm timed out...

Colin and Klebara are through. Split vote. Jane and Chris voted for Colin.

No velociraptor or T-Rex but yet ITV still persist with Schofield and Willowby? Was Schofield wearing bicycle clips as the lower end of his trousers seemed rather pinched and made him look short. 

Think Barrowman has been watching a few too many youtube make-up tutorials and tonight, he was exceptionally annoying. As for Banjoman, has he been using some kind of hair darkening spray? Or it might be my tv in HD. 

Found the emotional skates a bit too sickly in places and the judges marking purely on that i.e. overmarked rather than the content and ability. Actually thought the scoring was as appalling as the link between segments. Notice the cue for the golden 40 mark for the studio lights being missed twice and prompted by the hosts? Apparently there was the usual competition spot but er, went a bit wrong didn't it. 

and yet: 2 hours?

My opinion of semi-final:

PROPS:

Faye and Matt [golf clubs props]. Brilliant. Used props throughout routine. Underscored.

Lady Leshurr and Brendyn [chairs props]. Didn`t use props throughout; LL less time on ice [lifts' headbanger]. Grossly overscored with 10 from each of the judges FGS.

Colin and Klebara [hotel trolley prop].

Stumble at the start; good use of props for most of routine. Overmarked - same score as Faye.

Sonny Jay and Angela [table prop]

Little use of prop; messed up skate using prop; poor lift. Overmarked - same score as Faye.

SECOND SKATE:

Faye and Matt. Beautiful skate. By far the best of the series. Mazimum 10 from each judge. Well deserved.

Colin and Klebara. Not overly impressed. Overmarked by judges. 

Lady Leshurr and Brendyn. 

Good skate. Judges` mark - 37 - was fair, in my opinion.

Sonny Jay and Angela.

Very good, and emotional skate. Undermarked. 

Public voted added.

Faye and Sonny Jay in the final.

Ashley and  Barrowman vote to save LL. Jane voted to save Colin. Down to Chis, who agreed with Jane that Colin did better skate in skate-off. For once, Chris and Jane got it right [in my opinion].

LL is out - after being save for too many weeks.

Final next week - Faye; Sonny Jay; Colin.

It`ll be great to see Joe and Vanessa skating again.

Hope Jane is OK after Chris dropped her in practice.
