The first of 12 contestants has been announced for the new series starting in 2021
Myleene Klass
The judging panel remains the same as last year with Torvill and Dean, AShley Banjo and John Barrowman.
It will be hosted by Phil and Holly.
I read somewhere there will be a change in professional skaters. Not sure of all of them, though I do know that Alex Murphy who partnered Joe Swash to his unexpected win last year, has not been asked to return!

So whilst the worst skater rests up with bad back and is back to skate next week, we saw some great skating but VERY weird marking!!
The judges challenge was a circular step sequence on their own.
Sonny Jay and Angela ...As Popeye and Olive Oyl dancing to Sea Shanty. What a
brilliant skate. Judges challenge superb Scored 35
Lady Leshurr and Brendyn...As Cleopatra and Mark Anthony. Stayed in character. Messed up judges challenge Scored 30.5
Faye and Hamish ...Kate and Prince William Skated to Marry You. So sad that she slightly messed up the judges challenge and had a stumble. Visibly upset, although a very good skate Scored 32.0
Rebekah and Andy ..Ross and Rachel from Friends. Skated to I'll Be There for You. (The first headbanger) Well done on that, although judges challenge out of sync. Scored 32.5
Amy and Joe. Bonnie and Clyde and skated to Bang Bang. I thought they were ok, but step sequence out of sync. Scored 29.5
Wow, didn't expect see Ray Quinn...even just for a short while. Brilliant.
Colin and Klabera. Mr Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett. Skated to With Or Without You. Very easy step sequence. I must have been watching something different to the judges. Very overmarked Scored 32.5 absolutely ridiculous.
So what I'm seeing here is the poor skaters like Colin are being overmarked and those who the judges think are good skaters are being undermarked 'as they can do more'. How can Colin score more than Faye?? Also the poorest skater of all Jason, lies in his bed wishing people well!!
On those marks if the public don't vote for Faye, she could be in the skate off tonight.
If honest, I felt like turning off when Colin's scores came up
Having said that, Sonny Jay deserved top marks this week.

Loved what Kates Mum said to Ashley....not happy with his comments about her daughter at all.
Luckily the public saved her.
So Lady Leshurr and Amy in the dance off.
Lady Leshurr is through and Amy and Joe leave.
It's Movie Week next week.

Thanks @Cleoriff for the info on tonight`s show,
Ridiculous comments and scores from the judges once again.
Lady L cheated in the Judges Challenge and clearly held onto her partner during it when it was meant to be a solo effort.
How on earth did Colin get a higher score than Faye when he skated a simpler step sequence?
Thank god the public got behind Faye and saved her for next week.
In my opinion, the right two were in the skate off, but the judges saved the wrong one. OK, so maybe LL did spend a little more time on the ice but surely the actual skating each did should be taken into account and if that had been the case then I think Amy was the better of the two and should have been saved.
We have Movies Night next week and the return on the worst skater with the biggest ego - Jason- and no doubt Barrowman will be drooling all over him.
In case anyone is wondering, I think Jason should have been voted off week`s ago, should not have had a free ride to next week, and Barrowman is possibly the worst judge ever and thinks it his show.
The one good thing about tonight`s show was seeing Ray Quinn return to the ice with a great performance.

Exactly that ^^^^^^
Getting back to Faye, I admit tonight wasn't her best night but I think the judges are pushing her far too much and ruining her confidence.
Let's remember last week when she did that beautiful Black Swan routine and one of the judges said it would have been better had Hamish 'thrown her across the ice and Kaye landed safely'? That move is hard enough for a professional skater and yet they are expecting Kaye to do it in Week 5??
Sonny Jay was excellent tonight but I have never heard any judge tell him they expect so much more from him.
I love DOI but I'm so disappointed with it this year. Injuries and Covid have really upset the applecart.
I'm concerned that a 2nd rate skater will win just beause they are one of the few left.

Lets just say John Barrowman isn't popular with one member of the family. Words to the effect "get rid of him" would be the polite version. Ashley Banjo really hasn't got this judging thing at all and seems to have got worse this series. The face on T&D is quite clearly one of displeasure and frankly they are right. Should there be another series, both should be replaced.
Ray Quinn was a surprise and gets my vote to be a judge next time. Suggestion: instead of Banjo Barrowman put Quinn and dare I say it, James Jordan. Though knowing ITV will probably end up with Sharon Osbourne and Gemma Collins.
Really not getting what the judges are looking for in the skate-off. Clearly Amy was more confident and graceful though should have done more solo stuff but then again, the previous week's skate-off winner did exactly the same. Time's up for Lady Unsure as I see no improvement.
Also: 2 hours?
Breaking news: no live show on the 21st Feb. Guess another master stroke by the evil genius that is Jason Donovan

Was just coming to post about the show being paused. They had no choice really, I could have seen a situation where Jason was in the final with his best mate Barrowman just to make up the numbers!!
So bring back Joe and Vanessa!! If they tested postive last Thursday, they will be well clear in another 2 weeks.
They hung around long enough waiting for Rufus so at least give one of the best skaters in the competition another chance!!
Also as people have been dropping like flies, maybe bring back Amy and Joe....

Also Hamish is seeing a specialist about his finger which he injured last week.
Let's hope he is fit enough after the break.
If I was someone who believed in conspiracies, I might say, with Hamish uncertain and probably Jason not being fit enough for this week ...this is the reason the show has been paused.
Had they announced their intention of pausing on Thursday when Joe tested positive, he would not have dropped out. Both him and Vanessa would have been clear of Covid.
Also I find it kind of convenient that Phil and Holly are off from THIS Morning, due to it being half term...so perhaps THEY wanted a break??

Thank you for the post @Cleoriff
ITV must think the viewers are stupid. Its blindingly obvious why Sunday`s show is cancelled because Jason is poorly. Conspiracy? Think on this. Celebs fall victim to Covid - no cancelled show. Bereavement - no cancelled show. Jason poorly - show cancelled.
If its not fixed then bring back Joe and for that matter as last week`s was a farce also bring back Amy.

Not forgetting the injuries. Denise with her shoulder, Klebara with her slashed leg, Someone with concussion....No paused show.
Backs re funny things. If Jason had been told by his GP he couldnt dance this week...and Hamish with his finger. Pause the show!!

@Mi-Amigo @Anonymous @sheepdog
Another professional drops out. This time due to hand injury. Hamish Gaman who partners Faye has been advised he has a snapped tendon in one of his fingers and has withdrawn on doctors advice.
Apparently this injury was the reason he had to change the routine last week at the last minute, as he couldn't do the lifts originally planned.
Faye will continue with Matt Evers, who was originally partnered with Denise Van Outen who injured her shoulder. Matt is one of my favourite skaters so hopefully he will bring the best out of Faye.
No wonder they paused the show.
