ITV have started revealing the names of the candidates for Dancing On Ice 2025.
This is a show watched and commented on by myself, @sheepdog and @Mi-Amigo and others.
First candidate is
FERNE McCANN
Ferne is classed as a TV personality who appeared in TOWIE
Then we have
Mollie PEARCE
Mollie appeared in The Traitors. (I didn't watch the show so know nothing else about her)
The 3rd candidate to be revealed was:
Sir Steve Redgrave.
Steve is well known as an Olympic rower who won gold medals at five consecutive Olympic Games from 1984 to 2000. He has also won three Commonwealth Games gold medals and nine World Rowing Championships golds. He is the most successful male rower in Olympic history, and the only man to have won gold medals at five Olympic Games in an endurance sport.
The 4th Contestant is :
Sam Aston.
Sam plays Chesney Brown in Coronation Street. He's been in the show for a long time.
Apparently all the contestants start training next week for 2 hours a day. Steve said they are banned from the ice until they start training.
There are a total of 12 contestants.

12th Contestant.
This one we all know @sheepdog @Mi-Amigo
DAME SARAH STOREY : Paralympian Gold medallist.
Her total of 30 Paralympic medals, including 19 gold medals, makes her the most successful (by gold medals) and most decorated (by total medals) British Paralympian of all time as well as one of the most decorated Paralympic athletes of all time. She has the unique distinction of winning five gold medals in Paralympics before turning 19.
She started her career as a swimmer and now is better known as a cyclist.

You'd almost wish to have Bez back in there to spice things up! Still, looks like a serious bunch this series so it may be good and plenty of competition for a few weeks. I hope anyway but you know I'll be sharpening up the blades in January 😁
PS Looks like same presenters and judges again 😞

Yes I did look to see if we had a clown in that bunch!😂
The only likely characters are Sam (Chesney) who is a bit of a clown in Corrie.
Or Josh, who just looks a bit clownish 😂
Oh well, January is getting us nearer to Spring.
Just have to get through a miserable dark winter (and Christmas) 😖

Could be a good line-up and good show.
A lot of "celebs" - from reality TV - I`ve never heard of judge but I`m not going to pre-judge and will wait to see how everyone performs.
Looking forward to DOI 2025.

The only four I don't know are:
Mollie Pearce
Josh Jones
Dan Edgar
Chris Taylor.
Interesting that we have a Sir and a Dame in the line up. That must be a first. Both superb athletes so will be
great to see their progress.
However, we need to remember that Sir Steve has been retired since 2000 and is now 62.
Dame Sarah was still competing in this years Paralympics and won 2 gold medals. She is 46.

I read this thread when posted and look forward to the show in general. Better use of technology and I like good choices of recorded music & I can't ice skate, but love Chris & Jayne, who are on a World farewell tour atm called The Last Dance. Seeing them skate is The Best.
Sir Steve Redgrave will do well, but can he be elegant, will the lifts do his back in ? The well decorated with medals female paralympian I don't know, but she well do well I'd say = ashamed of myself, but I actually watch little tv.
Actually prefer DOI to SCD = a slicker format.
