ITV have started revealing the names of the candidates for Dancing On Ice 2025.

This is a show watched and commented on by myself, @sheepdog and @Mi-Amigo and others.

First candidate is

FERNE McCANN

DOI 25 Fern.jpg

DOI 25 Fern.jpg

Ferne is classed as a TV personality who appeared in TOWIE

Then we have

Mollie PEARCE

DOI 25 Mollie.jpg

Mollie appeared in The Traitors. (I didn't watch the show so know nothing else about her)

The 3rd candidate to be revealed was:

Sir Steve Redgrave.

DOI 25 STEVE.jpg

Steve is well known as an Olympic rower who won gold medals at five consecutive Olympic Games from 1984 to 2000. He has also won three Commonwealth Games gold medals and nine World Rowing Championships golds. He is the most successful male rower in Olympic history, and the only man to have won gold medals at five Olympic Games in an endurance sport.

The 4th Contestant is :

Sam Aston.

DOI 25 Sam.jpg

Sam plays Chesney Brown in Coronation Street. He's been in the show for a long time.

Apparently all the contestants start training next week for 2 hours a day.  Steve said they are banned from the ice until they start training.

There are a total of 12 contestants.

Good idea about Ben Shepherd @Mi-Amigo. Excellent presenter. Stays professional at all times.

Doesn't think any show revolves round him. (Unlike Mulhern!)

Amazing the amount of people who dislike Mulhern on other DOI groups.

Seen Michaela and Sam on Lorraine this morning.

Thank you to @Cleoriff @sheepdog @Mi-Amigo for all your comments throughout DOI 2025. I didn't watch all of the shows so didn't comment, but appreciate those 3 of you who have. I sort of lost interest when my favourite Fearne went out. I thought her a classy elegant skater.

It appears our suspicions about this being the last series of DOI are true.

According to ITV, they will be 'resting' the show next year but no indication it when it will be back, if ever.

My notifications get sent to spam but that's my email for you. Just literally read it on the BBC website.

Farewell DOI then and my new year's Sunday evening entertainment will be a bit empty next year as will I miss the post-show postings on here.

It had a break for 4 years already and unless they come up with a more compelling format without T&D being involved, it's one for the nostalgia TV trips of when ITV did try to entertain us on a Sunday evening.

And we may be saying the same thing about Strictly later this year given that Blue Peter has gone pre-recorded now, and there's been quite a move to pre-recorded segments in Strictly over the last couple of years. I don't have much hope if there's no change to the presenters.

The last time it was good was when Colleen Nolan was on it circa 2011 wearing a rather revealing dress! I've liked her ever since.

Also, other than DOI, Sunday night TV's been pants for years... At least at one point they had stuff like Bullseye.
