Countdown to Brexit

The UK leaves the EU at 23.00hrs [11pm] tonight.

According to BBC News online see here 

The British flag has been removed from its pole outside the European Parliament in Brussels and replaced with the flag of the European Union.

A clock counting down to the moment the UK leaves the EU will be projected on to Downing Street.

At 22.00 [10pm]: Boris Johnson will address the nation in a video message.

At 23.00 [11pm], Big Ben will not chime due to ongoing renovation works.

Spain has been a second home for many.
I still have friends there moved in spite of Brexit.
I didn't want to hear the celebrations , unnecessary (everything switched off tv radio off)

So... As BREXIT is now called "Transition", and if nothing changes by month-end, the UK, Coronavirus ravaged as it is, drops out of the EU completely at the end of December 2020. 

What are the chances of the muppets in charge acting sensibly and doing this:

About zero. Anyway, page 38 give this quote:

"Finally, the UK government argues that the fact that the UK would have to continue paying into EU budget is a reason for not extending the transition period. The date of 31 December 2020 was chosen deliberately to coincide with the end of the EU’s seven-year budget cycle, and the Withdrawal Agreement already envisaged that agreeing a reasonable UK contribution for 2021 and 2022 in the event of an extension would require calculation and negotiation. Crucially, the size of the contribution (other than for specific programmes in which the UK wishes to participate) would, under the terms of the Withdrawal Agreement, need to be agreed before any decision to extend the transition period, so the UK Government would be able to take a decision on extension in full knowledge of the financial implications.'

So given the state of negotiations already in the last 4 years, they propose to dump all of that try to agree a fee to not pay for programmes that the EU or the UK don't want to have each other involved in and the EU want money for, then use the time in the next two years to agree another deal that needs to go through parliment to be accepted which will be delayed and delayed by all means till the next election at which point...
