@Anonymous, @Cleoriff My previous cat didn't like to drink from her bowl that was placed next to the rest of the food. We tried different sized bowls. She liked to sip water from a glass that was randomly placed near the sink, or from a dripping tap (also sometimes from the toilet bowl if it was open!). Sometimes she did drink from her own bowl if we kept moving it around in "new and strange" places.

Interesting @Marjo I'll have a go at that ... Marty was 'poorly' yesterday ... he could have bolted his food ... what about cat milk ? is it just for kittens ? ... I'll read the label on the cartons when next in Morrissons

Personally Jane I would NOT bother with milk even that for kittens. My vet is totally against it. When I suggested a dash of milk in water...it is just that..a dash of milk...I only ever do that if desperately worried about dehydration with older cats...

I would agree there. Most cats are lactose intolerant (apart from when they are kittens) and can get diarrhea and other problems if they drink (cow) milk. I was curious about those cat milks from Whiskas etc. in the grocery stores and apparently they contain much less lactose and other 'bad' ingredients for adult cats. I tried it with mine to see if they would like it (got a free sample) and they didn't really get the idea. They smelled it and turned away.

I've seen some dietary cat food that contains more than usual amount of water in it. It's wet food though of course.

STUPENDOUS ... in a word is how I'd describe the film A Street Cat Named Bob

If you've read the book(s) as I have, it is something else slight_smile

Certificate 12A ... based on a true story ... comedy ... & ... serious stuff about the dangers of drugs etc (no injecting shown) ... how The Big Issue works ... how break-up of families can lead people downwards ... what a pet, in this case a cat, can give you

7 cats did the stunts (on demand) Bob played himself ... was looking for James Bowen's cameo all through the film & caught it ... ending credits with pictures of Bob & James Bowen left a lasting image ... the 2 of them support animal charities & Action on Addiction ... both remain true to themselves

Film's slogan: How 9 Lives Saved 1 Cat Very Happy :manvery-happy:

I've been giving Marty some Soup from Purina, OK the cynical may say smaller pouches, less meat, cost more (8 loose pouches for £3 in Morrisons) ... main ingredient is 'moisture' ... Marty laps them up ... only to be used as a dietary aid ... bottled water is always down as are dry biscuits & he also has a regular pouch of meat ... It's the rainwater he likes from the birdbath ... I've yet to try a dash of milk in water @Cleoriff ... he does lap up the milk from my cereal bowlin a morning LOL this is with long-life milk in Cat Very Happy

I don't know if I've heard it correctly but in the wild Cleo' big cats don't put their kill near water to not taint their drinking water ?

Hope Bugsy & your other cats are alright & all cats mentioned above  ^  ^  ^
