There has been a lot in the news about plans for Amazon to launch a drone delivery service
However new draft rules appear to have scuppered this concept (at least for a while)
"The Federal Aviation Authority's (FAA) draft rules for the use of drones in US airspace do not permit Amazon to launch its Amazon Air delivery service"
The draft rules state that pilots must remain within eyesight of their unmanned crafts, although it said it would consider factoring in a second line of sight in some cases.
Pilots must also be FAA certified to operate drones.

I must admit to confusion over how this drone delivery service would work in practice if it came to the UK?
I buy a lot of stuff from Amazon and have wondered whether I would be expecting my parcels to be dropped from a height into my back garden?

Not sure If this would come over here or at least not for the majority Anyway as you'd have to be quite near an Amazon depot for the drone to have enough range.

Anyone have any idea how they would actually make a delivery?
Even if it 'takes off' in the USA only.....this is still a question that remains unanswered....(in my head anyway)

I think we are a long way off seeing drones whizzing past the window to be honest. I've seen drones operating in Thailand (yes honestly!) but purely as monitoring devices. I doubt I'll live to see them dropping off my next new phone....

WELL! Doesn't it look simple?....as long as you live about 5 miles away from an Amazon fulfillment centre
(and I see the drones did drop them in the garden)
I found the comments after the video fascinating though.... Lots of talk about shooting them down to get the goods etc etc etc...

Probably just as well....I can see all sorts of 'mid air collisions'
